I fear that Pacheco is more of a fan myth than an actual real talent. People have been to watch him in youth and reserve games and yes he has looked good, but that is far from first team standard.
When at Norwich he wasnt a must start and came off the bench to play, where he showed signs of talent but nothing that set him apart and that was in the Championship. If he was a such a mega talent, as alot of fans would have us believe, then why was he not starting for Norwich.

Not every young player is set to make it at a senior level. Pacheco looks to be one such. He may well still become a good player, good enough for a lower Spanish team or a bottom table Prem team, but will never reach the level that was expected of him. Its time to move on and look at the next young players coming through.

Pacheco heir to Nemeth heir to Lindfield.

All the "Next superstars" tend to not be- whereas players like Kelly sneak into the team without the fanfare in the youth squad and prove to be the real-deal.

    Spot on <ok>

Kelly impressed and he looked like he came in just the right time, KK in charge, quality, home-grown and young.

It's a shame really but a season in spain may well help the lad.If you take the case of Rossi who was shipped out by manure post haste but has now turned into a top striker with a big price tag.So let's let him go on loan and see what he does. There must be something in his make-up that prevents managers from playing him.

By the way,I watched some of the U-19's the other night and although they lost 0-3 they were a little unlucky and very unlucky not to score. But there is some real talent in there , Sterling looked very good as did a young lad who came on 2nd half and I can't remember his name.N'goo looked dangerous (even though he sounds too much lke N'gog) but the one who impressed me most was Andre Wisdom at right back, not his normal position.Plays a little bit like Essien, very powerful, one for the future I think definately.

Pacheco deserving a place- what do people base this on?

Training- who the hell has watched training day in and day out to the point they can make a judgement?
Loan Spells- has had 1 and wasn't a regular starter, showed he needs to develop into a first team player
    Chances taken for Liverpool- zero
Attitude- see a lot of thinly veiled threats about needing more game time and suchlike, hardly has the passion of a Jay Spearing (the perfect example of how Pacheco could be part of the team)

Which of the above means we 'owe' him a place in the team, given that we do in fact pay his wages anyway.

I think people are still heartbroken over the way their Dani Pacheco love affair has gone. He was Barcelona's best youth talent they said, he's the next big thing they said. He shined in a youth/reserve team that at the time was in a terrible state. We all needed to believe we actually had some kind of prospect coming through, but the fact is our youth teams are a 100 times better right now, so we don't need Dani Pacheco at all.Quite simply would you rather have Pacheco on the bench or Raheem Sterling on the bench? I'd rather have Sterling, and yet he's not ready for first team football yet, so that shows you how ready i think Pacheco is. If he had no future we'd have sold him, but maybe its just a compromise from both parties.
