Man U - if you're struggling for people in central mid you could always try a bid for Modric? £2m less than what Chelsea bid and he's yours :)

18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA
Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for
more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally,
however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying
round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to
play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another
club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for
the group stage of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa
    League

Would have been a great signing but it seems he wanted to stay in London. I think he will go. You rarely stop it from happening when a player wants to leave.

What year's that from? This is in the 10/11 rules:

"17.07 Excluding the three rounds of the UEFA Intertoto Cup and the UEFA Super
Cup, and subject to paragraph 17.18 below, a player may not play UEFA
club competition matches for more than one competing club in the course of
the same season. A substitute player who is not fielded is entitled to play for
another club competing in the same season’s UEFA club competitions,
provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in accordance
    with the present Regulations.

One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA club
competition matches for another competing club in the current season may
exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded:
− in the same competition for another club
− for another club that is currently in the same competition"

Woops, copied from the wrong document:
18.18 One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA club
competition matches for another competing club in the current season may
exceptionally be registered provided that the player has not been fielded:
− in the same competition for another club; or
− for another club that is currently in the same competition.
Furthermore, if the player’s new club is playing in the UEFA Europa League,
his former club must not have played in the UEFA Europa League at any
    point in the current season.

It's from the current rules straight from their website.

If Spurs did not qualify for the Europa League group stage he would be eligible for the Champions League group stage with another club even if he had played for Spurs in the qualifying rounds, I also read a sports report that said much the same thing

Fair enough. **** his injury, we should have just rolled him out onto the pitch for the last minute if it was that bad.

I won't give a prediction until the ref's been named.

If it's Clattenberg or Webb, blood the youngsters...

If we get mugged by inept / biased / incompetent referees again at Old Trafford then there needs to be an investigation into corruption.

I have lost count of the bad decisions that go against us when we play Man Ure (and some of them have been horrendous like nothing ever seen before)

Guess they're all bitter about Nani's goal last season.

And Mendes' 'goal' that didn't count.
    And Wes Brown's save.
And the ridiculous, unpenalised last man foul in the same game.
And the Carrick penalty that clearly wasn't one.
    And...
