    a) Many of the fans reckon he was hit by a bottle but only a very minor blow - still massively unacceptable. I call them fans but anyone at a ground who throws things is simply an arsehole which ever team they purport to support.

    b) I thought that was Nile Ranger for a minute. Now that would have been an insult!

    Ah, Ranger. A talent that could have been.

    I remember him and Carroll up front in one game, perhaps it was Arsenal, and between the pair of them they caused so many problems for the defence. Two big chaps up front? Bloody hell! Was the thinking going through the beleagured defenders.

    It's bound to work, providing that one can get the ball into the box. The thinking being is that most defences and defenders are set up to counter one big man up front. Not two.

    Does anyone know if Murphy celebrated the goal or did he do the former club 'muted' celebrations thing? I ****ing hope it was the former and not the latter. <laugh> I was going to say they could/should have signed him but I think the £2m fee was about double their entire budget. <laugh>
