Last time out Sunderland lost to Sheffield United, while Forest lost to Sheffield Wednesday.
Sunderland boss Simon Grayson has injury concerns after Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Sheffield United, notably after defender Lamine Kone limped off. Aiden McGeady, Lee Cattermole and Bryan Oviedo could return after missing the Blades game through injury.
Forest will be unable to call on former Black Cats midfielder David Vaughan who has a groin problem but Daryl Murphy and Liam Bridcutt could feature. Goalkeeper Stephen Henderson could press Jordan Smith after his return from a long-term Achilles injury.
    Simon Grayson:
“It seems to be a little bit like Groundhog Day. We started the game quite well, (we looked) bright, looked busy and from the attacking position we were in suddenly around the 20-minute mark we lost possession and they went up the other end and scored very quickly.”
“It took the confidence out of the players and it made it difficult. People know it has been a very difficult place to play over the last few seasons but what we have got to do is stick together and scrape a win on Tuesday night.”
“Then the confidence levels can come back. There is no denying the players are affected by the confidence but you have got to roll your sleeves, make sure you work hard and do whatever is required to get over that hurdle."
“We have to do what is required to make it right. Ultimately that is the good thing about the championship, at times you lose a game on the Saturday you've got another one very quickly. Let's hope we get a scrappy 1-0 win or a real positive three or four nil win. Whatever is required to win a game we need to do on Tuesday night.”
    Mark Warburton:
“Adam (Federici) is having surgery and we have sent him our best wishes over that – but Bournemouth have basically rescinded the loan and taken their player back. That is a magnificent gesture on their part”
    Speaking about DeBoer
“I am not going to start to have a go at Palace individually, because they are a great club and I have respect for them. But the fact of the matter is that, in the game in general, the time that seasoned people are given to get the job done is being reduced now, almost on a month by month basis.
“That is the worry for me. Staff changes and player changes – how does a club get settled?”
Warburton spoke of the need for stability at Forest when he was first appointed last season – and still believes that is the basic starting point for any successful club.

    Match facts:
    • Sunderland have won their last four meetings against Forest in all competitions - though this is their first encounter since August 2008.
    • Forest have never won a league game at the Stadium of Light in three attempts (D1 L2) - their last away win at Sunderland came at Roker Park in November 1993, with a Stan Collymore brace helping them to a 3-2 win.
    • The Black Cats are winless in 13 league games at the Stadium of Light (D5 L8) - their second-longest winless home run in their league history (18 in 2005-06).
    • Nottingham Forest have lost eight of their last 10 away Championship matches on a Tuesday (D2) since a 1-0 win at Birmingham in September 2015.
    • No Championship player has had a hand in more goals than Barrie McKay this season (five; two goals, three assists).

    My two pence:
I am expecting a few changes from Saturday’s team and hopefully a change of tactics. After a dire performance, we need to win a home game for the first time this year.
I am going for a very scrappy 1-0 win.

I think if McManaman starts he'll be a game changer for us. He looked next level to me both in quality and attitude. We could do with Catts back though, Rodwell didn't exactly look good there last game.

I'd be tempted to play O'Shea instead of Browning because he looked good last game but yeah that's my team too assuming Catts is unavailable.
