Can I ask all of you to sign a petition which asks for full disclosure of all government documents relating to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. Link: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/2199 What you need to do is fill in some details and then you will recieve an e-mail. You then have to click the link which is in the e-mail and your name will be added to the petition. If this petition hits 100,000 names, the government would have to debate this issue in the house of commons. NOTE: If you don't click the link which is in the e-mail, your name will not be added to the petition. I think we all know how important this issue is to Liverpool fans and I strongly urge everybody to sign this. We will get the truth. JFT96.
Do you think thats a wise move saurezlfc? I cant agree with your suggestion mate, nothing wrong with it in a normal environment but theres to many haters on this site that it would ruin Chris's thread. Plus the fact that there are enough nomads and squatters from other teams on our board that he should'nt have to multi threaded.
Good point PMK. Leave it on here. Chris, I signed this some time ago, but I commend you for posting the link. Justice WILL out. RIP the 96 PS. Before the Valencia game, I went inro the Hillsborough support shop and bought a T-Shirt. Fantastic value at a tenner, with all bar the manufacturing costa going to the appeal.
There was a decision t'other day to release the Thatcher Documents: The government has been ordered to publish documents revealing the discussions held by Margaret Thatcher about the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 Liverpool fans died in a crush at the stadium in Sheffield. Ruling that release of the documents was in the public interest, the information commissioner said it was right to publish the record of a Cabinet meeting on 20 April 1989 in which the then prime minister and her ministers spoke of the disaster, which took place five days earlier. The judgment by Christopher Graham relates to a freedom of information request by the BBC more than two years ago, which was refused by the Cabinet Office. He rejected the office's argument that the disclosure would impact negatively on the freedom with which ministers can engage in "free and frank discussions", and on the convention of collective responsibility. Good decision to leave it on this board. Noticed Joey Barton has posted the link up on Twitter. Classy, nice one Barton.
Thanks to everybody who has signed it. When I posted this thread at about 11.00 last night, it had just over 5,000 signatures... It now has 22,000 signatures. Brilliant. Like Xabis Right Foot has already said, Joey Barton has tweeted the link. As well as John.W.Henry. We are getting this petition out there and the signatures are rising. We will get the truth. JFT96.
Signed last night; has anyone seen that Joey Barton has been telling all his followers to sign it in every single tweet for the last 24 hours?
That's great to see. He must have quite a few people on his twitter so we should be getting towards the target of 100,000 signatures.
