You only have to look at what he achieved at Bolton when given the time to build, he did well at West Ham considering the horrendous injury problems we had and the constant undermining by Sullivan. People who call him a long-ball merchant have simply regurgitate what they read in the press. Klopp could certainly learn a thing or 2 from him.
Allardyce is very effective. I don't like his style of football, but it clearly works. Having an organised, hard-working side and going direct is quite simple, but it's served him well. Pulis does an even more ugly version of it and there's a reason that everyone hates playing his sides.
He was trying to even things up. They had Otamendi and Stones, so it would be unfair to pick someone good. Guardiola even subbed Mangala on in the second half as a thank you.
@Skylarker, @luvgonzo what the hell was klopp doing playing TAA AND Klavan? How come Lovren wasn't playing because Klavan is an absolute joke of a defender? Just a shocking performance from the reds after the red card, they all decided they couldn't be bothered. Watford are looking good, i have them on my handicap league win (my other pick West Ham aren't looking so good ). Think Marco Silva is going to be the next big thing and even though Hull went down, i thought he did a good job with a dire squad. @Tobes why the **** was that joker cuco martina playing. Can't believe Koeman picked that spastic up although the first goal was pickfords fault.
@theevilreddevil seems to be missing this week after wumming the first 3 weeks. Is he the United CFC?
@BobbyD don't forget Moreno. Are you just watching motd too? As for Cuco, said at the time it was a baffling signing.
Moreno is terrible, but at least he's been starting this season and is viewed as his first choice LB (think Robertson is just as bad defensively). TAA and Gomez has been used in rotation with TAA being the attacking RB and gomez the defensive one. Klopp decided to use the winger as a RB and it showed as he was way out of his depth
They'd have been better off picking Navratilova or Hingis, if they really needed someone called Martina at right-back. He got murdered all day long, though he did make one good run right at the start. Pretty poor show all round by Everton, though. I was expecting a much, much tougher game. Lots of changes to their squad and they didn't really replace Lukaku, so I expect they'll improve as the season goes on. Probably need to chuck Calvert-Lewin in up front and I think he'll do it in the Europa League on Thursday. Tom Davies will come back into the side too, I expect.
No clue, we were doing well until the card though if it hadn't happened it might have been a different conversation.
We've got JJ Kenny who captained our U23's to the PL2 title last season and played every game in Englands U20 Euros win this summer, sat in the stiffs. He must be scratching his head seeing this useless **** starting ahead of him
