Unlimited cheap labour does benefit employers, I'm not arguing with that. But what really benefits employers is weak Trade Unions, and a government willing to encourage zero hours contracts, bogus self employment status for employees, poor wages, & all the other shyster business practises that allow the **** employers undercut the good ones.

So don't rant about people suggesting that our guests disproportionately rape and stab people when they do.

Poles aren't stupid mate. Try getting a half decent plumber in London, of any nationality, & you won't be getting the job done cheap. Same applies to any skilled tradesman. Unskilled labour is cheap, but I know sparkies, plasterers, and brickies (English born and bred) who have been taking home wages that'd make your eyes bleed. Unfortunately for them, the construction sector has shown a marked downturn in recent months. Wonder why that is?

The time to really worry btw, is when no **** wants to come here to work anymore.

 

What ****ing world do you think I live in? Without wishing to sound like a Daily Mail reader, I have worked hard all my ****ing life, & (owing to my own stupidity, granted) I have neither a skilled trade nor an education to fall back on.

After leaving Royal Mail I had four years doing whatever **** job I could get, before finally getting something decent. I worked with plenty of Poles, Somalians and Kurds at Ocado, & I can assure you the Poles especislly were bang up for joining a union. Unfortunately, the union was Usdaw, and most of their members nationally are housewives working for pin money, but that's another story.

Inviting Turkey to join the EU with it's 80.5m residents and bordering Syria?
