A quick snack of Tropezienne and Sauternes. I've always had a thing for a custard tart, but frankly this is ridiculous. It is almost too nice to eat. https://photos.google.com/u/1/photo/AF1QipPfibBphG4maaV7CtBnE1uflg14qCKudGuQ4tU

It's official , in case you were not already aware , the world has gone PC mad . http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41218525 he went to a fancy dress party dressed as a Nazi from Allo Allo , and there is his picture with his mate who is also dressed as a Nazi , he has apologised ( I don't think he has anything to apologise for ) , the BBC themselves say that in another picture , there are people wearing French Berets . Do we see that Picture ? Oh no , that might mean it was an innocent fancy dress party , and not a pathetic headline grabbing gesture from the BBC . I mean , he only left them for C4 . Perhaps someone should remind the BBC who broadcast the show !!!!! ( and yes I know the report is from the Sun , so why are the BBC even bothering ) . ** AND it ( The Photo ) is from 14 years ago !!! ***
Little bit windy today amongst the beautiful sunshine. So I went up on the terrace to do a bit of sunbathing. Not a normal practice of mine because, hey, it's almost always the uk, and anyway I'm usually too busy. But on holiday there's bags of time. So I've been lying here with a beautiful woman whispering sweet asmr nothings in my ears, in Russian. Blimey, relaxation while awake doesn't come much deeper than this. I'll put this down and get back to her. Cheers.
Just started reading a book about retiring in France, by David Hampshire. It's fairly recent (2008) so should be relevant. I liked the opening paragraph on the advantages of living in France, and specifically, the South. It said... 'one of the major advantages is the warm and mild climate. This leads to better health, which results in a greater sense of well-being, within a more relaxed environment.' Well, I'm sold.
Incredibly powerful campaign from CALM in the major nationals on Suicide Prevention Day, publishing unbelievably moving real suicide notes from men who survived. Biggest killer of men under 45, and a man takes his own life every two hours in the UK. https://www.thecalmzone.net/2017/09/wspd2017/
You might also like Living and Working in France, and Buying a House in France. Both by the same author.
Also be careful where you buy....visit it a lot. Just heard that an acquaintance of mine who moved last year to France (sorry, don't know where) has found it too isolated and, after spending a fortune doing a barn up, can't sell it because it is too isolated.
I've got 2 parcels both coming by DPD. One has come via Havant and one via Southampton so are on different vans. The tracking shows one is 15 minutes away and the other is 2 hours away. Both vans are according to the tracking just up the road in Whiteley. Who organises the routes? Surely it would make sense for all this area's deliveries to come from one depot and why is the driver who is already in Whiteley having to come back in 2 hours to deliver my parcel?
Just learned that in the late 18th century there was a racehorse called Potoooooooo Pronounced "Potatoes" That has made me very happy.
Imps getting political again? A Lincoln City fan donned a bra in protest over the alleged inappropriate search techniques used by Stevenage stewards in a recent match against Grimsby Town.
Have to say that I can see no reason for bras to be searched....especially as no one gets frisked before games anywhere else. If they introduce it at SMS I will have to find somewhere to hide my spare plastic bottle cap used to replace the one confiscated at the turnstile.* *No suggestions required.
