I've heard a rumour that Assem and Ehab did not actually buy Hull City Tigers as a gift to the good people of Hull, despite what they said at the time
It has gone very quiet indeed. Can any of the original posters who first mentioned it give us an update?
They're too busy choosing their new boardroom chairs now they're the owners ...that's what I heard anyway
Im led to believe that as the vslue of footballers has gone through the window (thanks PSG) the Allams have been given a golden egg. Money for nothing now. Long season ahead and another painful and profitable transfer window ahead.
For those few on here that are ITK, Is this takeover still happening in the background? I can live with the silence, it's the hope thats eating away!
Good point. I will re phrase to potential future transfer windows. Pretty sure Grosiki will go though I appreciate we owe cash on him. Henendez in the future would be worth some cash. What if Bowen is on 10 plus goals by Xmas.
Despite his agents' best efforts, nobody came in for Grosicki and Hernandez will return in time to see out the last couple of months of his contract, he'll leave for nothing. After this season, we'll have a final year of (reduced) parachute payments and only a couple of potential sales who'd need to be replaced. The cashing in has already been done, the club is about to go from being a cash cow, to being a liability. I'm praying that this is enough to see them **** off.
Well it's either they're going to **** off now the money's gone. Or Ehab fancies being a brentford/Peterborough owner and he's going to try, I repeat try, to buy cheap and sell high.
Although I'm very much 'praying' too, I think it's the latter. Backed up by the recent actions and the new staff structure which seems to have an emphasis on recruitment. A Championship club could still make big profits on players, like Toral, Stewart et al if it goes right. You probably only need the one big sale to enter profit in this system too. Got to be one of the best forms of gambling around.
I think you could well be correct. And that also ties in with the previous investments in the youth policy. Which suggests there was probably never any intention to sell. And now, they have discovered a new cash cow.
Despite Friday's result we've still got a decent chance of going up this season. Most articles I've read have been complimentary about the players we've brought in (one site even predicted we would finish second.) Most people on here think Slutsky seems a good manager (although he now needs to start proving it). Yes we will only have one year's parachute payments left after this season - most clubs in this division would love to be in that position. Yes we might lose Hernandez for nowt next Summer, and then again he might just pop in a Wembley winner before he goes. Yes Grosicki will probably leave in January, but that's the nature of football, players come and players go. Who knows, we might even have Odabajo and Mason back later in the season. I don't know what will happen, nobody does. Anyway I'm sorry to interrupt the doom talk. I've got some black paint if anyone needs some more.
Well he better get his act together re scouts and HOR then, because ours are ****e compared to Brentfords and Peterborough's.
Chances of Moses wearin g a City shirt again seem to be bleak at best and after Mason went to Derby to watch on Friday if the words '**** that' didnt enter his head, he needs it examining...
Gravy, Dennis, good gravy is what you need with the hat to top it off! I'm surprised QatarCambridge hasn't been on to sing the praises of gravy!! Not that I think it'll come to that, unless Slutsky is a quick learner.
