Lost the midfield battle today and that's what killed our game. Watford didn't really threaten and scored with two speculative shots that a top half keeper should save comfortably. Cedric, Stephens and Hoedt had good games, the rest of the team were let down tactically by our manager. Ps Austin looks very overweight for a Premier League footballer.

Do you really have to compare a team that got relegated and a that finished 8th. A team that has 5 points in the Prem while they have 5 points in the Championship after 2 more games.
These players (Boufal excepted) have all proved in the past that they can be as good as anyone on their day in this league. It`s down to the manager to get a tune out of them, and get them organised and at it. We haven`t had any kind of bounce following MPs arrival, which doesn`t bode well.
Normally i'm a positive poster, but i'm a bit concerned about our performance today, we seem to have regressed from last season and there was no pattern, purpose or passion in our play today. I really do think that it's time to try without Steven Davis in the starting line up, I think that JWP offers more and Lemina must surely start in the future.
We need to beat Palace because our schedule gets brutal in a couple months. If we aren't upper midtable after 10 games, we'll likely reach the new year in or around the relegation zone. I don't think that we're likely candidates for relegation, but it'd place Pellegrino under an awful lot of pressure.
To be honest this is what I wanted to say but feared I'd get labelled a drama queen for saying a must-win five games in. It's true though. I currently cannot see us getting points from the games in the run-up to and surrounding Xmas.
10 to 15 games is what I give a new management team or squad etc before fully judging. I am not going to panic just yet.
