2-0 down, no change in formation and bringing Long on; Austin still on the bench... Edit: Take it back, Austin now on.
It is not clear if there is anyone we can beat. Brighton are predicted to struggle and they have got 3 against WBA. The way we are playing we are not going to be even getting 1 against WBA It seems something drastic is needed. But since the players cannot be changed (and haven't been even when there was chance) then I don't see what this could be. Would a formation difference really change enough? We were apparently awful with a back 3 against Wolves. So what else is there?
Suppose these performances are replicated going well into the autumn. What the hell do the club do? Big Sam anyone?
Start Austin and play Gabbiadini on the right, maybe? Would give us someone who can make runs from deep and a second player who can finish, if nothing else. But the desperate lack of creativity through the middle, I don't know how we solve that.
Prepare for relegation I assume. I don't think we will ever jump for a manager like Sam as a specialist to keep people up It shatters the image of being a "well run" and organised club (which we seem to be in every aspect except the recruitment of replacement players) Last knee jerk desperation manager appointment was Harry. And we all know how that went...
And we haven't even reached the autumnal equinox yet!!!!! Best to get the bad spell out the way early rather than later in the season. This is basically the core of players who have been here for two years so something is amiss. I thought Tadic and Boufal were noted for their creativity. Maybe it is in the wrong areas.
