If Meyler had started and we'd played 3-4-3 I'm sure the result would have been different. That's not hindsight either as it's what most of us said before kick-off. The defence needs sorting out desperately, and Slutsky needs to learn quickly from his awful tactical performance.
The worst thing about the result is going to work and having g Leeds fans ( from. Hull ) taking this piss about us being ****ing ****e and that's why they support TWS. The ****s already know I refuse to talk football to people that support other Cities
Agree, bad day at the office, let's move on. Slightly ot, much prefer the standard of refereeing in the Championship, they all let the game flow, not blowing up for every hard tackle. Witness the pathetic sending off of Mane today at the Etihad, if that incident had happened in the Championship the ref probably wouldn't even have blown for a foul!
Is there much choice? Livermore was sold, we brought in a defensive midfielder on loan and he left at the end of last season, and we brought in Kevin Stewart who's only been injured. We've got a small squad, not many choices. Against weaker teams you may be able to get away with all out attack but not against all.
Shock horror, you play a player out of position and he is ineffective. Do we think Bowen would make a good holding midfielder?
No. The only person in football worldwide with less football nouse than him must be the ****ing idiot that scouted and signed him!
I remember in our promotion season in 07/08 we had back-to-back sobering defeats away at Preston and Southampton which acted as a bit of a watershed moment in our season in a good way. I'm not suggesting that this season will reach a similar conclusion, but a defeat like last night may well give those concerned time to reflect on what went wrong and build positively for the games ahead. I may well be wrong, but it feels good to try and be a little bit optimistic!
I'm no sure Lenny rates meyler, Ledley would be ideal to sit in the 2 man midfield if he continues with 4231
