I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean, as there are lots of opinions out there - you defend that, I believe. As you started it, do you go to Hull City games, have you been to watch this new squad? Let's be clear, it doesn't matter to me, I'm just curious as it seems to be important to you (and Chazz). Can we accept that opinions can be formed through decent media coverage as well as attendance on the terraces - after all, I think that is the basis of the outspoken posts, tonight, of you and Chazz, which I don't criticise. Oh, and the lads I know who have watched Larsson for some 5yrs (ish) would happily discuss your views over a pint - in fact one of them posted for me when I went to the bar, he reckons you're a **** and I told him no, you're just a daft lad. Night
Like everyone other Hull City fan I was so looking forward to the game and with Derby`s position in the league felt we had a real chance of getting something out of the match. As others have said a probable turning point was the penalty scoring that could have resulted in a different game. However the Larsson`s was off balance when he took the kick with his non kicking foot miles away from the ball. Result ball in row 15. My general thoughts about the match were that we ran around a lot but did not do the basics. True there were individual defensive errors that cost us but all through the first half players failed to do the simple job of marking their man. Too often our players chased the ball whilst Derby players used the space and simply drifted into spaces where there were no City players. The result was that that they had the time and space to shoot into what seemed to be a very wide goal. In short Derby players played like they knew one another and what one other would do. In contrast we played like we were unsure of what we had to do except chase the ball and certainly unsure of what our team mates would be doing. It was as if most of the team hardly knew one another. Which is of course what it is So we can perhaps excuse this game but now Mr Slutsky it`s time to roll our sleeves up and get basic discipline and organisation into this team so that the tigers regain their bite.
Given that we were in the game for the first half (in that we were holding possession and passing it well and creating chances), the game for me wasn't lost in midfield. I've been criticised in the past for having a go at Meyler, yet Henriksen has the same game and gets slated. I honestly don't think it would have made a difference. Watch the goals again and then tell me it was the midfields fault. I'd have had Meyler in tonight after his Ireland performance, so the team selection wasn't great. The biggest thing for me was swapping the formation, I thought the 3-4-3 was the way forward. Back to it for the next game please.
****ing hell, Chazz, you and GLP decide to attack me and you also decide to use fundamentally flawed argument, but you say that defending myself and exposing your arrogant stupidity is patronising. You really are a thick ****, as usual.
Kingsley looked a proper bag of ****. Don't know what Clark did to deserve to get dropped. Hopefully he'll be back in next game.
Generally don't disagree Chazz. But you can see he wants to start playing with 'his' players, which DM and AD are not (and before you say it neither is Jimi Hendrixs son I agree), but you cannot get away from the fact that what he wanted and has said consistently is a well prepared pre season; shut doors (well at least the exit ones) at the supermarket and so on. As I said on another post earlier, that same line up will play again in a few weeks and purr through a game and wallop someone in a similar style to v .Bolton. But I suspect from the broken English comments he makes, that the work he wanted to do weeks ago, he is doing only now. His track record suggest he knows what he is doing. The Allams meanwhile...... So as I said, ALLAMS OUT!!!!
The difference is Meyler doesn't try things he knows he can't do. He gets involved, he breaks up play, he pisses off the enemy and goes in hard to hurt them. Henriksen tonight looked like Meyler minus all the good stuff. I don't think Henriksens game is anything at all like Meylers, he looks every bit an attacking player to me and doesn't look anything like a holding midfielder. Playing him there is silly.
Thing is, it looked like 3-4-3 when we had possession at times, with Henriksen filling in. The whole team backed off tonight. No bite in midfield (and with the selection we couldn't expect anything else), Dawson consistently backed away and barely made a challenge and Hector played as though he thought he was Franz Beckenbauer. We just look like a soft touch and far too open. I'm not a great fan of Meyler as a footballer, but he has more energy and bite than Larsson or Henriksen....you have to win a few battles to do well in the Championship and that line-up just isn't capable of that.
Great, tell him he's a ****ing silly Mackem **** . So you've not seen him live at all then. Just as I thought. Have they only watched him on TV as well though? Or have they been to actual games. TV highlights can give a very distorted view of a player.
That was really ****ing ****. We were second best all over the pitch. We got the leathering we deserved. Not the team I would have selected. Fulham up next. Different game. We move on.
Nope. You brought up a statement proclaiming Larsson was **** on the back of him missing a penalty. Your opinion you claim having seen him play for the last 2 years. These all live games or just the odd casual TV highlight?
