my personal favourite is/was John Candy, lve his films, but not that big of a film buff in all honesty
there isn't anyone I can think of that would influence me to go see a movie just because they are in it, but there are actors whose body of work I greatly admire. from the current crop: Jake Gyllenhaal Mads Mikkelsen Michael Sheen Brendan Gleeson going back further, Burton, O'Toole, Bogart, Olivier
Not at all. Just tired of people thinking it's not ok to have a different opinion. Then you get the predicteable list of people chipping in.
Met John Alderton and his kids. Mum and Dad used to own the shop his family owned. His Sister also lived a few doors down - Jackie Alderton.
Good call with Peck BFB - chilling Olivier's great, Rebecca, Marathon Man 'is it safe?' plus that oration - World at War uber alles
The comments (well mine) were about the actors in your list, not your opinion of them; there is a difference ...
I think Roth is a one trick pony, he ruined Funny Games for me. Also he's no Idris Elba when it comes to the American accent. The original is great though. Timothy Spall's always decent. Tom Hardy is quality.
Even though it was Haneke who did the English speaking version, I sincerely couldn't be arsed. The original is ausgezeichnet. Love a lot of Haneke's films: Time of the Wolf, Cache, Benny's Video... off the top
Olivia Colman, not seen her be anything but brilliant in a whole range of roles Local(ish) favourite Sheridan Smith As many have said, Tom Hardy, although Hollywood seems to be turning him into a bigger star and worse actor
Daft comedy greats - Wilder and Pryor. Love Gene Wilder. Used to love Steve Martin stuff when I was a kid growing up - Man With Two Brains, Dirty Rotten, PT&A, All of Me If I recall correctly, it all turned sour and **** for evermore from Parenthood
