He done well in the Pre-season by all accounts, and if Cornell is going out on loan I hear, I would be happy if he is on our books for the next season, we need 3 keepers to enable us to have sufficient cover for all contingencies .
I liked the look of him. At 6'3" he is a commanding figure and I think I prefer him to Moreira on the little I've seen so far. As for what's happened to him, I haven't got a clue. Like us to sign him, though.
If he is a free agent, I'd imagine they'll offer him something small and if he takes it brilliant, if he doesn't we can always find someone else as emergency cover.
certainly think he has looked the best of the 2 keepers we hard before Vorm signed. Well worth a little punt.
To be fair Moreira had more to do in the Betis game than Tremmel and the Portuguese made some decent saves. He looks a good shot-stopper. But I agree - of the two Tremmel didn't flap quite as much and looked generally more assured. I'd like to have him as number 2 and Moreira as 3.
If Vorm carries on like he did against City we need Tremel on the sidelines as unfortunately things could get interesting come the January transfer window!
I know every player has his price, but there is no way we would sell our first choice keeper mid season, if we did it would mean relegation imo, it would be an utterly mad thing to do, tremmel is there to provide backup in case of injury to a keeper, every position needs at least two players, with a keeper that needs at least 3
Fergie may be desperate by then and willing to offer big bucks! I agree about keeping him though but, no player is safe if they perform between now and January.
Unfortunately , we are now in the main shop window. This will obviously bring in offers in January for any player who stands out. We can always reject the offers, but if silly money is put on the table for the club and the player , who knows? I for one hope we do get loads of offers for all our players in January. At least this should be an indication that we have performed well for first 5 months of the season. Hopefully we can if not maintain the squad , at least make a quick decison in time to seek a replacement.
He is still with us. From what I saw of him he was the exact opposite of Moreira, safe hands, decent under the ball but not exactly the most mobile of keepers, looked in slow motion at times. Useful a a third choice I think and he will probably sign on under those terms if Cornell goes on loan.
