The vote wasn't unanimous and it's thought 14 of the 20 voted for it. So it's more than likely that the top 6 voted against - no surprise there then.
Least of our worries, English teams all have the same closure time anyway. It's the moneybags foreign teams that are the issue. FSG stood firm this time against enormous pressure from Barca and the media - will they be able to do that every time? Will other clubs be able to do it? We'll be left with three weeks of players all throwing girly tantrums because they want to make their "dream move" come true with scant regard for the effect it has on their current club. Apart from other leagues coming into line, the only other way it would work is if the rules were changed and both ins and outs finished together. I haven't even thought that through to see if it's practical.
May have been the foreign clubs that unsettled you this time, but for 90% of the league its from other english clubs. It's unfair on clubs to have their players unsettled whilst the season starts. At least with this new end of the window, their will be less teams who will have their players unsettled. I know this still puts british clubs at a disadvantage but realistically how many foreign clubs buy players from the PL when its not the club deliberately releasing their player. The only ones off the top of my head have been Ronaldo, Fabregas, Coutinho, Suarez, Vieira, Modric, Bale, Henry, De Gea. Hopefully Europe will fall in line with us but this is better than doing nothing
you are right largely. 1. No english players go abroad cos nobody wants them 2. foreign players going out to real etc are rareish cos most of them are either on the way up or one the way down in england. Sanchez for example. Having the "out" available to english clubs to shift an unwanted markovic type for example is no harm. 3. realisitically the skinflints like spurs who wait til the last day to get value are largely well able to go business with foreign clubs at any time and if clubs in euope know the english money ends at 5pm on a thrusday they will do business. So it won't matter. 4. the premier players like alli and coutinho will be very very dodgy for clubs cos you will need to KNOW they are gone early and replaced or not at all. players surprising clubs with 3 weeks of spanish market left for example need to know thay will be creased. Chelsea look like they are going to severely treat costa to the level he deserves for 6 months for example.

Don't need one -Sky will supply one (and a lighter) if you want to do that, just as they did outside Anfield in 2005. The Star will go one better - they just burn a shirt in their car -park and say it was at Anfield, as did with Suarez in 2013.

Danny Murphy's a twat, nothing justified Couthinho agreeing terms behind the club's back and downing tools and putting in a TR, and to think Murphy play for our Legends team. "With Coutinho at Liverpool, for example, his team-mates will know that when he has played for the club he has always given his all and the fact that it was Barcelona who were in for him completely justified his desire to leave." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41193378
Klopp playing hardball Posted at13:07 Man City v Liverpool (Sat, 15:00 GMT) Jurgen Klopp has just arrived and seems to be in a playful mood. "Before we start, we are not going to talk about transfers or Phil Coutinho - only the game," he says with a smirk. "Whoever wants to talk about the game, you can stay - anything else you can leave!"
Of course it justified his desire to leave, but not the lengths he was prepared to go to to get what he wants. The end doesn't justify any means.
