Thank the good lord for that - I'd run out of goalkeeping legends...

This man, in his overalls and work boots, is a legendary figure in Australian sport. Who is he and what is he famous for?

Daniel Greives was the grandson of Reg Williams jnr as well as the great grandson of Skilly Williams. Reg Williams jnr is down as a Watford player although I cannot find out much about him. Must try and find out more. :emoticon-0100-smile

I have just looked into this and it is a superb story. I'm not going to answer (busy next 48 hours) but I urge everyone to look into this. Good stuff, BB.

Just to clarify, I didn't post the answer because, in my view, I cheated. Some questions require a lot of research and it's fair enough to use google for answers, but this one, I just right-clicked on the photo and searched google for the image and up he poppoed, far too simple to claim success!

Can't do that on my laptop anymore for some reason, so I assumed that would be the same for everyone. Silly me. :(

I asked only because halfway through my reply I couldn't remember if it said "search google" or "search the internet!" I then had to find a photo to right-click on and tried several before I found one that worked! <ok>

OK - probably best to move on, given that I stuffed up using a picture. The guy in the picture is Cliff Young. In 1983, at the age of 61, he entered the Sydney to Melbourne ultra-marathon, a distance of around 540 miles - a race that normally takes 5 days to run, with runners running for 18 hour stretches before taking 6 hour breaks. Dressed in work overalls and work boots, and in classic tortoise and hare fashion, Cliff won the race simply by running non-stop the whole way.

One for the wordsmiths - in English English, the contraction 's can be used to replace five words. What are they? (I specified English English as the Americans have six - one of which isn't really recognised here.)

just worked out what the problem was dave - I don't use Google as my default search engine, preferring Duck Duck Go.

To say "I Duck Duck Go'd it" is a bit of a mouthful though... :)

Only got 3 of them - is,has and us - was in American English. Unfortunately if you google under 'contractions' you end up reading about labour pains !

Only two more to get then... :)
Both require a bit of thought - one more so than the other.

In casual language 'are' as well - as in how's you. Not sure if a grammarian would accept it though.
