Not as it's included in the Liverpool bid for 2026.

It means that the stadium won't have to have a design that means a raised platform running track could be fitted for the games, I've no idea whether there's 2 designs on the go dependent on the outcome of the bid, but the fact that there's been nothing released to this point might suggest that there was.

If Brum win the 2022 games then the 2026 games wouldn't be in the UK.

If Brum don't win the 2022 games then surely their bid will carry forward as the chosen UK option for 2026?

The games had nothing to do with our stadium funding.

Have the Tories given their reasons for choosing Brum over us yet?

I'd imagine they would've planned for this. Would be shambolic planning if the whole stadium requires designing from scratch now that they haven't won the bid for the games.

Unless they want to build the stadium and bid for a future commonwealth games, even if its 10-20 years down the line.

It shouldn't alter anything tobes as the new stadium forms a major part of the 2026 bid.

No the bids for the 2026 have gone in and Birmingham weren't part of it. As you say though if the games are in UK 2022 then they won't be here in 2026. We find out at the end of the year who the host will be so just a few more months for you blues to keep your fingers crossed <laugh>

Plus the expensive new roads they're building would only lead to derelict dockland.

Yes, Birmingham will have a permanent world class athletics stadium and 4 permanent indoor arenas, Liverpool just couldn't offer that.

Birmingham can't even afford to empty the city's bins, yet the Tories never took that into consideration, I'd imagine the games committee would.
