Now would br the perfect time for him to step up and make a name for himself, despite hid horrendous miss he still has bags of potential and I'd love to see him fill the void an make a name for himself.

Definitely agree
Maybe not be entirely dependent on him straight away, he is still quite young after all. But give him more play time, a few more starts, and he'll definitely gain more confidence and be banging them in as much as he is for the reserves!
Always rated him, gutted for him when he missed his chance at West Ham and felt sorry for him afterwards when everyone was slagging him off!

Between Shola, Best, Ranger and Lover I'm sure we can find the goals to stay up then focus on buying a much better and proven striker in the summer for a lot less than 35m ;)

I agree, he should be given more starts this season

But, I dno if any1 agrees that maybe next season if we get a striker or 2 in, he should go away on loan to play week in week out

Not an option, we are now short on strikers after losing Xisco and Carroll, and hes better than Best and Lovenkrands already, his experience should come from playing for us in my opinion.

But have you seen the chances he has missed, In youth team he puts those away and when he gets the chance like against west ham he messes it up lol. I think we are done for can not reley on Best,Ameobi,Ranger and Lovenkrands for rest of season

I dont rate him atm he needs to go on loan for a season

Loan Ranger out? Are you mad? Then we would only have Ameobi, Lovenkrands and Best to play up front.

Hopefully he can revel in his new found importance at the club, like Rooney did after Ronaldo left. (but for a longer period of time)

Yeah not now, we need him for back up now but next season loan him out, I just cant see him been top player atm

Ranger reminds me very much of Carrol around 2 years ago. I think had Carroll not have gone then we could have loaned Ranger out for half a season or maybe next season, but now we must keep him. I really believe from what ive seen that he will come good. I think he has bags of potential.

Remember we were all saying this about Carroll not so long ago, and we have just sold the lad for over 35 MILLION!

lads like Ranger our the future of this club and need to be given chances until they take them. Its a matter of time IMO before Ranger steps up

Ranger IMO was a better prospect than Carroll when they were both coming through. I think he has to be given the chance, the minute he gets one goal the floodgates will open for him. Cmon Nile lad, make us all say Andy who???

The only problem is that if Ranger does really well for us (ala Carroll) then with Ashley still at the helm, he'll no doubt be sold. I was really hoping that with Carroll showing bags of potential and Ranger a couple of years behind him that we'd have an awesome partnership for years to come. Well, that was wishful thinking.

That's my biggest concern too, also when decent bids come in for Jose and tiote will we be seeing them ushered out of the door too?
Bye bye to thoughts of thinking were on the up :(
