http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11669_7111744,00.html What do you think of this? I'd rather we just sold him because i don't think after hes gone back 'home' that he will want to come back. He's obviously a talent and done very well at Norwich but Rafa, R*y and Kenny all seem seem to not trust him enough to put him in the first team permantly, if hes not good enough sell him for 2/3million then everyones happy
I feel the same i dont think he is quite good enough to break into the team which is a shame but rather than drag on the poor lads hopes just let him go.
I think a lot of Norwich fans will be disappointed he is returning to Spain and not stopping short in Norfolk. In the few games he did have for us last season he did well and people really took to him. Can only wish him well
If really pi&&es me off that he aint got a chance And it really grinds that people think that he has had a chance Hes had less than 150 first team minutes at anfield.THAT ISNT A CHANCE.Ngog is only about 9 months older than Pacheco, has a lot, lot less ability and played 2000 minutes last season, and most the time was rubbish, but still kept on getting games And the fact they play slightly different positions isnt a reason either We should have played Torres,Kuyt,Suarez as the main striker with Pacheco behind when we picked Ngog Basically , he hasnt been given a chance , I I dont blame him for leaving This leaves a terrible legacy for the top foreign talent coming to Anfield now The top young foreign players now wont touch us with a barge pole now, knowing they have no chance of getting a decent run in the first team ,after the way Pacheco has been treated I see exactly the same thing happenin to Suso, he wont get a sniff in the first team either, with players with less ability gettin a go in the first team just cos there passport says England
What really worries me is that we sell him for a modest fee and he goes on to be one of the better players around, everyone at the club would be kicking themselves if this happend.
And to think 12 months ago we were bursting for him to get in to the team, he was being touted as the second coming of christ
I feel quite sorry for him, he seems to have decent ability but has never really had a proper chance and to be honest if he wants to leave i wouldn't blame him. Its a shame really as i think he could have developed in to a very good player for us, i wish him all the best where ever he ends up. But i do think you have a point it seems that at the min were giving preference to English players seemingly only on the basis of nationality not on talent, a policy which i think might get us in to trouble further down the line as we may end up with a lot of hard working players who lack real technical ablity. I personally couldn't care where a player comes from ability should be the only thing that matters as football is an international game anyway.
It really pisses me off that people think he deserved a chance others had earned. I'll listen to what the managers who managed him think more than people who've never worked with him in training and never had to decide who to leave out so Pacheco can ghost through another game, then explain to all the fans why they're playing him again and again and again. NGog was one of the only players in the squad to shine under Hodgson. Under H&G he was a 4th striker having to play 2nd striker and usually 1st because Torres was crocked. At 20 he was scoring 1-on-1s against VDS. What was Pacheco doing? Pulling his ****ing plonker. NGog was one of the ones who kept our head above the Hodgson tide and he was only a sub in the team that were utter ****e in the Europa when we went out. He still got all the blame though, bizarrely. Total and utter bollox. He had his chances and failed to shine. Not just foreigners. It says to all the players, "Take your chance when you get it because 'run of games' is a phrase for console gamers. We carry nobody and we've got the squad depth not to have to." If he fails to match the potential to produce consistently, as Pacheco is guilty of, then that's likely.
"Run of Games" , when has Pacheco had a run of games...........I must have missed it.How many competetive 1st team game has he started, 2 maybe 3 The real crazy one was against Braga at anfield last year when we got knocked out of the Europa League We had a front 6 of Maxi Lucas Raul Cole Dirk Ngog Over the first 50 mins we created f%%k all,we were dire.Fair enough they were no threat either. The best we had on the bench was Spearing and Pacheco. Kenny brought Spearing on after about 60 mins, every man and his dog around me in the Main Stand was saying the same thing " get pacheco on""give him a chance", it cant be any worse than we are now.We wouldnt have scored in 10 hours with the players we had on the pitch at that time, and both Maxi and Cole were avin a mare. But the clock ticked 60 mins, 70 mins,80 mins, 85 mins, still no Pacheco. The perfect player for this sort of occasion, someone who can unlock tight defences. In the end he stayed on the bench and we got knocked out that night. He must have" Im never gonna get a chance "after that night
N'Gog is foreign and got plenty of time. Pacheco didn't but maybe that's just because (despite everyone wanting him to be good) he wasn't as good as N'Gog. Plenty of youth have had their chances the last few years. I don't think we'll be scaring anyone off.
Pacheco can look as good as he wants for Spain u-19 and u-20's but we don't know how he does in training. Heck, Milan baros was the Golden boot winner in Euro 04 and was awesome for Czech but just couldn't seem to cut it with us. N'gog must be doing something right behind the scenes for him to garner more time. I say ship them both out, get some profit, let the new crop come up and use the funds for a CB or that 3rd striker/winger we still need.
The Pacheco story is one of a mercurial talented youth player who is struggling to make it. 3 coaches have had a look at him and he is yet to make the grade. I fell into this hype when we signed Nemeth, he was scoring goals in reserve looking a cut above the rest but till today he is struggling to carry his form into senior football. A season loan may do him wonders if he gets to play but if he goes out and shines he will be given his chance. What people forget is he is only 20 years of age and has still time on his side. All you have to do is look at a certain Lucas Leiva who joined the club at 19 and was called shoite by his own supporters. He is now one of the first names you expect on the team. I just think fans have to be patient with him.
To be honest I think KK's just buying time. He doesn't see young Danny getting a shot at first team this season so his letting him have a swing at it in his own country to his see if he still has talent. If he doesn't think he has a chance after that he'll move him on . What's the harm for us? If we sell him now we'll get £2mil-£3mil and if he performs well we keep him, if not we can still get near enough the same fee. Let's hope with a full season at another club he'll shine and prove his worth. His only young, theres no need for the 'Play him or sell him' ultimatum. That's for players like Cole, Aquilani and Poulsen where they've had chances and are at the age where their market value only decreases year by year.
I can agree with this. Don't see why some are up in arms, we aren't selling him and this loan move can only be beneficial.
I personally think if Rafa was in charge last season, I think he would have 10-15 games under his belt,as the season before he was just starting to get a few 15 minute cameos
