I find it funny that him and Joey are all of a sudden all pally, Joey said in a public appearance that he was a bit of a ponce and couldn't walk past a mirror not 6 months ago.

Sounds like he's just trying to keep fans onside in all honesty. He sounds like he's trying to justify a move that was hard for him to come to terms with. In the article it sounds like he cares about our club and it sounds like it was a tough choice to leave. Who knows, could just be so he doesn't boo'd at our place.

I was there and that was very much tongue in cheek though. He didn't call him a ponce, he just made a light hearted joke that he "didn't care if Jose left because he ****ing loves himself and can't walk past a mirror without looking" It was just a bit of dressing room banter. To be honest the way Barton spoke that night he seemed to suggest they were all very close and didn't really have any cliques. It is very hard to imagine what these two talked about though. Maybe Joey read up on the spanish revolution and wanted Jose's views on the whole affair?

He comments on how settled the Liverpool dressing room, how the **** would he know?

He hasn't even been there a week FFS.

    Having a final dig IMO.

I don't understand why you think he'd have a dig. He has moved onto to bigger and better things and was always going to be asked about the Newcastle situation by the press. He's given an honest if slightly vague comment in response. I don't think he's said anything we don't already know. We knew the likes of Barton, Simpson, Harper have made noises about the future of the club. Big deal. He could have said a whole lot more undoubtedly. Indeed I think many will be disappointed he hasn't gone into more detail, but for me I'm glad he's left it at that because we don't need further bad press at the current juncture.

I'd imagine you get a feel for the atmosphere of your new club within days, and I'd imagine they are pretty enthusiastic there about this season. The players have seen big names come in to strengthen them, and they'll have been pretty tight knit after a tough start to last season. Dalglish galvernised them and got them a steady finish. The fans are up for it, he's made a good move for his career.

I'm sure the extra £20K-£30K a week helped soften the blow mind.

Telling it like it is indeed - telling people what has already been said 1000 times. Does publically piling more **** into the media about Newcastle do any favours for the morale of our new players? Hasn't there been enough crap without his comments (which are an attempt to assure he has no boos when we next meet)? Don't think he engaged his brain before letting it move his lips as I'd rather he said nothing and let our team get on with it because his little rant won't make any beneficial difference.

Jose just saying what we all ready knew. Ashley has no ambition for the club and is happy with mid table. Very depressing really.

    Newcastle dressing room gets 10/10.

Ample mirrors, always hot running water, clean, good quality shampoo and conditioner, fluffy towels and enough plug sockets for shaving.

The players who chose to leave are the ones who've created the holes in the line-up...its a pretty self-fulfilling prophecy for the best players to say the club is selling all of the best players, when its them who are holding the cards and choose to leave.

I'm not criticising his choice to go per say, but can he blame the club for selling him (or Carroll) when its them who wanted to leave?

It is but at least he has not revealed anything that would really hurt morale wise. This just rolls off the back of any fan or player with half a brain. We know nothing further and that's the way it should be now we've started the season. They can keep it for their books. I don't think Jose will be worrying about being booed. He is a grown man and this is part of football. Certainly wouldn't bother me. And he probably knows the majority will give him a cracking reception anyway.

Think he should worry less about the toon fans and more about the fact this team he's joined that's spent hundreds of millions can't even beat the mackems at home!!

But in all seriousness, whilst he's right to an extent, if he hadn't left it's only Carroll we need to replace...

I would never boo a player who leave's a club to fulfill their ambition and that is what Jose has done.

Pretty sure everybody here agrees with this, there was a thread on it a while ago. Still not happy with his pointless little rant though, brings nothing new to the table and does nothing of benefit whatsoever. I'd also dispute his claim that 'everybody is leaving', because we were looking like building a solid team until he buggered off. Good luck to him in future but he shouldn't have bothered with this, it was needless.

Honestly , i don't think Jose knows what level hes been playing at by the sounds of it ! He is the exact quality player we need in left back and if he had stayed we would have been a lot stronger , then all we would have needed is for a replacement for Caroll , we would have been in a better situation for definite and could have seen ourselves as contenders for the top eight.
In the other hand though i bet if our club had gone out from the start of the transfer period and bought in a very good striker for around 15 million then he probably would have stayed .

Nah me neither. There are very few I have booed to be honest. I would always give Bellamy dogs abuse because he fully deserves it with his behaviour while here, and then his comments that have followed regarding the fans etc. I wouldn't boo Dyer for instance. Despite his behaviour here, he has at least been man enough to admit he was wrong and embarrassed by his behaviour while here.

I did of course join in with the comical booing of Sir Les after he'd received a rapturous applause not long before!

WP as said above, did he really need to spout what we already know??
NUFC get's enough bad press without a player opening his gob.

Carroll we are all agreed you don't turn that kind of stupid money down for a player, Jose wanted to leave and hardly made a secret about it.
And Nolan again we all agreed why Ashley let him go, I can understand not wanting to give him a 5 year deal. Smith is a shining example of why!!

So there are two sides to every story, Ashley is hardly asset stripping the club.
I've heard that the Carroll money is coming in as instalment not all at once, which would explain why we havn't had it all to blow. And the signings look to be good shrew deals to me so far.

Things could be a lot worse, look at Arsenal, Wigan, Blackburn, Everton hardly bringing in loads of players and in Arsenals case selling a lot.
