I think people are naively forgetting Grosicki's complete inability to kick a football anywhere near where he wanted to for half a season on the back of one performance where he actually managed to once or twice.
Peterborough said on their OWS that we paid them a seven figure sum for George Boyd. People don't only make up **** in hull.
Surely within our grasp then. I've never heard of him but from what I've read on here for our resident football managers, chief scouts and armchair experts, he sounded good.
I sort of like this post but then I also think scoring nil is a problem that shouldn't be excused. Bruce always used to do it; blame the ref or a defender for us losing 1-0 when the fact is we didn't have a shot all game. Obviously both ends of the pitch matter. I agree though that Grosicki is an easy target. I mean he's not the first City player in recent years to actively seek a move all summer after relegation only to find that no one in his preferred league actually wants him. But for him it's open season to have a go at him. Not the same for certain other players.
That was bollocks all along though. It was debated on here at the time and after one of his crosses leading to a winner a load on here conceded he was decent after all. He was a key part of a side which achieved solid mid table results in the Premier League. We didn't get relegated because of anything that happened when he was here remember.
Most of the others from last season have gone. Evandro could be a target too with his endless injuries, but we see him so little it's a case of out of sight out of mind. I suppose Grosicki has just had more games, more opportunities than others recently, but for no more result in his time so far.
One cross. It was widely accepted, up until the Bolton game, that Grosicki couldn't kick a ball within a +/- 20• direction of where he actually wanted it to go. Worse crossing than Elmo, most passes under/overpowered or way off direction, shots from 6 yards out that were closer to the corner flag.
Mainly that debate was a load on here saying he should be playing on the right, which was where he played that cross from (well a couple of us anyway)
His final ball last season was regularly terrible and his shooting was even worse, even his best assist was a complete accident. He's started well this season, he looks far better in the Championship than he did in the Premier League. Hopefully he'll continue to do well, as if we do manage to scrape promotion, I'd definitely flog him.
