Rest of us at culchies to them but we can tell where you're from within 5 miles based on accent... Too young to remember if there was an equivalent difference up north England wise and dunno if it's changed over the years. They always do based on incoming...beauty of our countries....we suck it all in like a sponge lol

I was thinking about the bench we could of put out against Arsenal (subject to injuries of course) Goalie : Mignolet CBs : Clyne / Milner MF : Cortina / Lallana CF : Studge 6 of last seasons first teamers. OK bit of a cheat with Ming, as Karius is obvs backup. So lets say 5 of last seasons first teamers on our bench. I think if we can put this bench out and still have a really strong first team on the pitch, then we have definitely strengthened the squad. The other point I wanted to make is that if we want local lads to break thru, then we cant always buy new players every window. Part of pre-season is to evaluate youngsters and marginal squad players to see if they have developed. This is what has happened with TAA and Moreno.
Do you mean the slow one with over-pronounced "t" and such? I never heard that one as a kid, everyone I knew spoke like a machine-gun and didn't realise there was such a thing as the letter t. I'm not sure if it's a time or a regional thing. There's more than one Scouse accent. Mine is probably unrecognisable now having lived in Woollybackland for so long.
They reckon up until the second world war the accent was more Lancastrian than after and has changed beyond recognition since those days, load of bollocks, how would all the old fellers be able to order their pint of mild in town of the barstaff couldn't understand them.
I think that's bollocks too. We used to be in Lancashire before the metropolitan redrawing, but all ports develop a unique accent distinct from their hinterland. The influence of Irish and Welsh in the Scouse accent is obvious, and they've been invading us for centuries. As you well know, most of us are mongrels anyway.
It's worrying to think some of matth's ancestors blood is running through some poor twat's veins in Liverpool.
