I've never stopped watching it so wouldn't really know. You think it might have a similar effect like when you watch old kids shows, cause they're never the same are they?
it's on All4 mate. I prefer the Smell, You can tell Big night out was their first so their are awkward moments, especially as it's live studio audience so it takes a few episodes to get the best out of it.
57 next Friday mate.. I class the old ones as Steptoe, Till Death Us Do Part, Monty Python etc.. The 80's I class as contemporary and after that they are positively futuristic.
Nothing from the USA? If ok, how about..... F-Troop Soap Police Squad Roseanne (might be making a comeback) Just for starters x
But the old ones were the old ones when I was born. So the newer ones must have become old. It's been 35 years. You aging buggers can't keep old to yourselves forever ya know, people younger than you are growing old too.
Old american comedies which are actually funny? Wow, big ask. Police Squad and Who's line is it anyway are the only two which comes to mind. I see most yank comedy as light entertainment rather than comedy. It just doesn't tend to make me laugh out loud.
Agree with Brian there. The Septic Tanks just can't do comedy shows. Mash was ok but Soap was ****ing ****.
I've only recently been getting into that, hadn't seen more than a minute of it before. It is funny like.
F*ckin tossers all of ya's. How the f*ck can you have a comedy thread without mentioning George & Mildred?
Laurel & Hardy Harold Lloyd Addams Family The Beverly Hillbillies Get Some In Citizen Smith The Good Life England 0-0 with Malta
Massive fan of Bob, less so Vic. All their stuff cracks me up, some more than others, but also liked House of Fools... Have you tried Athletico Mince yet? Funny as ****
Just goes to show how personal humour is. ****ing loved Soap! It was insane, taking the piss out of every Yankee drama going at the time. MASH was just on another level though. Brilliant stuff!
I used to watch Laurel and Hardy, Buster Keaton, the Marx brothers and the Paleface films with Bob Hope as a kid because my dad had them on tape. Doesn't get much older than that.
I was brought up on that. They just don't show them anymore which is so sad. I'd love to see them all again but my kids would probably just find that old stuff crap and won't have the time of day for it.
