I agree , he's a different type of player to Llorente and possibly better suited for Tammy and Ayew to work off and to supply , if the wing backs can replicate some more of those sublime crosses then we could be onto a winner and a supply from Sanches then we could be spoiled for choice .

<laugh> you do make me laugh roofie. I know you love Fer but even you must admit when he was playing RB your team looked crap and lost.

He is not a good RB.

Hull reaction to Clucas being used as an emergency full back one of utter amazement. Having played in less familiar positions doesn't mean he was any good, it means Hull has a completely threadbare squad. They couldn't even name a flu bench when they played us!

Dont forget Carroll. I think he'll become more and more influential as season progresses. I think Ayew can be creative too.

The Yanks must be very happy because imv, they have made themselves a cool $50m in this window but in doing so haven't improved the starting 11 and have weakened the squad as a whole. Much of our success now will depend on what Paul Clement can do with a couple of rent boys.

Bony's arrival would have been a bonus if Llorente stayed but exchanging one for the other is a backward step and Llorente leaving negates any positivity benefit of Bony returning.

We sold Siggy for £45m and replace him with the loan of a kid has lost his way. A boy we are supposed to turn into a man for Bayern Munich. What the **** is the point of that?

Our entire midfield is packed out now with mediocrity; Britton, Mesa, Clucas, Fer, Routledge, Narsingh, Monterro wont be scaring any team into fearing us. Only Carroll and Ayew have any creativity about their play and with the arrival of the rent boys they may not even play. If Bony is striker I bet Abraham takes Ayews place and I cant see Clement dropping Fer for Sanches, so its Carroll who'll miss out.

To accommodate so many midfielders will PC revert to a flat back four?

Our defence was weak and a huge problem yet we've managed to weaken it even further. We have no cover at left-back or right-back as Rangel is getting on and cant cope playing week in week out.

I'm gonna stop now, I'm getting depressed.

Less wages to pay more profits to take. I'm shocked the yanks have left us with three keepers, surely we can make do with one and get Roger Freestone back on loan.

I like the signings, but am so disappointed that we haven't strengthened all over. I have to be honest and honestly believe we are weaker than last season, but having PC in charge from the start of the season may compensate for that. I think all the signings will do well. Cant help thinking that we could have done just a little more for not a lot of money and would have been a lot stronger. Still this is what we have and just have to hope that PC can get them playing.

With all do respect we had multi injuries at the time , no Llorente , but by all means blame Fer totally for any team misgivings , you better get in line

I'm not saying its Fers fault that he got played at RB and didn't do a good job of it (as much as he tried).

What i'm laughing at is that in spite of knowing he wasn't any good at RB as that isn't his position, you've just said he's your backup RB!

What if Naughton and Olssen are injured at the same time, which is quite possible, then we have an aging Rangel at right back and an out of position midfielder at left back GREAT:emoticon-0138-think I don't dislike Fer although he is frustrating at times but when he covered the RB position he was poor and we lost his midfield presence.

He played RB in Holland , and when we went through that bad spell where Naughton , Rangel , Llorente and I think someone else went down injured , he was taken from up front to RB . The whole team was playing bad because of injuries . If the only injuries were to our right back back , Fer would probably looked much better , but the team was in disarray in general . Don't blame me , Clement will use him there again if the two regular RB's are down .. and he also said he will use Clucas at left back as cover ... take it up with Clement .

Yiadom deal failed to materialise. The incompetence in the last minute dash is quite overwhelming.
I suppose if they really want him they could get Barnsley to pay him off, making him a free agent. The fee could then reflect that.

Montero off to Getafe on loan.

I think the reason Clement didn't push to hard on defence is he expects us to spent more time on attack and it will relieve pressure on the defence which was under siege last season .

Roofie thats the point. Fer is a shambles at RB. Also he was crap for holland at RB (in fact Holland have been crap for a while, they didn't qualify for the Euros and aren't qualifying for the world cup). As good as Fer is, he's not a RB. Clement was forced to use him at RB cause of your lack of cover which Valley is pointing out.

Just because Jose Mourinho used Robert Huth up front a few times doesn't make Huth a striker.

You can't say you have good depth at RB by lumping Fer in there.

I only stated who Clement will use as cover for RB and LB . Then there was a ( not to unusual ) attack on Fer . The only ping pong being played is his own fans smashing his name back and forth .

I'm not criticising Fer for the sake of it. I'm just saying he isn't a RB, how is that critical? Its like saying Luis Suarez isn't a goalkeeper (although he's great at handballing it).
