Grosicki staying has to be the bonus ball, though the window in Spain does not close until this evening. Expect a cheeky bid from a lower end Div 1 side.
Signing the Chelsea lad is a bonus, reading about him he is quick and a decent header plays CB plus RB so is good cover in defence, he was on loan at Brighton last season and has a four year contract at Chelsea. Disappointed in Musa had he told us earlier we could have concentrated on bringing someone else in but we didn't lose anyone which is another bonus. Let's hope Slutsky can gel the team quickly together and get us up and around the top six area for January then we can hopefully strengthen that bit more for the run in.
When will we ever learn...Guess the year. "The lesson I learned from last season was to improve in January in terms of the transfer window," "We only brought maybe one or two in in the January transfer window last season. If we get ourselves in similar situation hopefully with a good start next season then obviously the transfer window doesn't need to be considered more seriously, but it certainly needs to be targeted to enable the second half of the season to be as successful and to give these guys a chance. "In terms of the numbers of the squad last season, it was critical that towards the end we were using the full squad as opposed to using the same 12 to 15 players, and consequently that took its toll on us at the end of the season." Hull have been turned down by a clutch of transfer targets this summer after deals appeared to have been concluded, opting not to join the Tigers after fees had been agreed for them. City's veteran midfielder ******************, though, asserted that the situation was not affecting players already at the club. "We're not frustrated as a team," he told reporters. "We know that the club is working really hard to get the right players and the right deals for us. "What we don't want is the manager to bring someone in that's not going to improve us. We won't gain anything and it's money not well spent. For me it could be every transfer window.
Sorry if this has been said a lot as not read every post, but surely if Musa didn't fancy dropping down the to Championship we shouldn't have had to wait til 11pm on deadline day to find out this, f'ing madness!
we didn't Ehab ****ed off at 9, it was already passed his bed time and he'd missed his ovaltine and half an hour colouring in - he was well pissed off because he'd missed his bed time story
Just the one more loanee in? Didn't keep up with this at all over the last few days or whatever as transfer windows are the most detestable, tedious **** we have as a society. Well almost. Time to end the circus. Reform football.
As with a few others I don't believe the Musa thing, unless he changed his mind (à la Barkley) Slutsky would have known that he didn't want to play for us. I don't trust anything which comes out of the club with Ehab around. Being positive, the 3-4-3 which looks to suit us allows a lot of flexibility in terms of who plays in the front 3. Ideally it's Grosicki and Bowen - which it suits perfectly as it means they have to track back much less - but it could also be any of our other forwards, as well as the attacking midfielders like Irvine/Toral/Evandro. If we are very lucky with injuries we might be OK, but on the other hand a couple of injuries in defence and we're ****ed.
Ok window imo....could have and should have been a lot better, but the ones that have come in are good additions! Real quick one.... Why does ehab leaving the training ground at 9pm mean anything? Deals can be and have been done anywhere, everyone has mobiles and email access 24/7 now with phones tablets etc....myb he went to the ground, his office at Melton, home etc.... But doesn't mean he stopped working at 9! The fact the loan came in so late kinda proves this
Meh, on the whole, it's been a good transfer window I reckon, Musa would've tipped it to an amazing one, but given where we were at one point it feels pretty decent to me. We've options in most areas of the pitch now, reduced the debt to those slags the Allams and with a couple to come back from injury will have some much needed competition for places. Bring it on.
