And then he turns up unmarked in the penalty area...Ritchie spots him alone, free in the box...he threads the ball through a packed defence...Shelvey steps over the ball wrong footing the defence...Gayle sprints in the opposite direction throwing the entire defence into a single second of indecision.. the ball arives at Riviere's feet, he hasn't had to move...the goalkeeper is frozen to the spot.. Rivierre looks up and carefully picks his spot...the crowd has gone eerily silent but pregnant with expectation...the ball glides sweetly from Rivierre's left foot as he slots the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net...he's never kicked the ball more cleanly..for a second the world stops still..the ball nestles in the back of the net...it's a goal...the crowd goes berserk..he's scored, Rivierre has scored...the crowd are unable to believe their eyes..commotion ensues, the noise is unbearable even for seasoned football fans..one chant stands out above all others... Emmanuel, wake up, it's time for school...
Nail on the head there! I'm just wondering if it is worth the club loaning out some of the players and agreeing to pay part of their wages just to free up some wages off the expenses. It's not ideal, but for some of the knackers that we have it may be the only option.
I think, for once, we'll do some business late in the window - a few will go as clubs start to get a bit more desperate (Krul, Hanley, Colback, Lazaar) which will free up some space and cash
Chemo is a well planned response to a massive problem. I'm confident we have the massive problem. The well planned response....... not so much.
This negativity is starting to rub off on me too. Pass me the bedsheets!! (no not you Tash, they are too crusty).
I'm still holding out a faint hope that it will be 'we'll sign no good players and only just avoid relegation'.
