Messa was paid with Cork.
Bony for Llorente.
Abraham and Sanches are loans.
Clucas for £15m. That leaves £30m from Gylfis £45m transfer.
We also sold Barrow and Gomis for £3-£4m and Kingsley for £2-£3m.

So you believe that we don't pay for loan players, Sanches was supposedly £4m for the season, and Abraham would cost money too! Plus we brought in other players in this window that are in the youth setup, they may not cost huge sums but it does add up! Also I believe we have another transfer window opening in 4 months, don't you think we should be keeping money for that? You are being very shortsighted Valley!

We've shipped out 22 players either on loan or permanently. What's the point in keeping money for January when we could be in a right mess and prices inflated further.

Not short sighted at all. We've sold our two best players and haven't improved the side/squad. All the while, the Yanks make a £30m profit on Gylfi.

Do you think we've replaced Gylfi with a suitable replacement? Do you think our defence is strong enough?

We released some high and very high earners.
Only Wilf will be on big money compared with player who went. Mesa and Clucas are the only other transfers in who will command ELP level wages. Abraham and Sanches's wages will probably be quite high but not extreme.
7 players loaned out and should be off our books include Baston, Grimes and Amat. high - very high wages.
18 Transferred out include Emnes, Gomis, Tabanou, Tremmel, Cork, Barrow, Sigurdssson, Kingsley and Llorente. - some eye watering paydays off our books there.

We have not only underspent our sales, we have not added a penny to purchase costs.
And we have probably knocked several million off the annual wage bill.

Yet our defence is one suspension away from being a joke.

What's the point of keeping money for January you ask? Well I'll give you the answer Valley, the season is for 9 months not 4! We are not a club that has unlimited money that can sit on players like Man City or similar. We have to be wise with the money we have! And in case it's passed you by, most of the pundits were saying the players were over inflated now, I mean £26m West Brom wanted for that player!

As for your last questions, we have replaced Gylfi with the players coming in, that is what a club with limited resources can do, sometimes these transfers work sometimes they don't! As for the defence, whilst it would be nice to get other players in, it hasn't happened so we live on what we have.

My opinion is that you need a reality check, and realise we don't have bottomless pit of money, the money you think is left over must be used in the next transfer window, if we spent it all now, where would the money come from for that window?

Prices are inflated further during January.

We have 5 fit defenders, saved millions in wages, got £30m from Gylfi in the bank, not to mention the £100m TV monies.

We needed to spend money on a couple of defenders. A suspension or injury in defence and we could be stuffed.

No we don't have a bottomless pit, but we do have a further £30m that had to be spent to strengthen the defence and out wide.

We make £120m a season in revenue. As Bob said, our wage bill has been drastically reduced. We have £25-£30m left over from this window, plus any money we make throughout the season. We are a premier league team earning a premier league fortune, we don't need to sell to buy.
It's easy to say we deal with what we've got in defence, but why should we have to? The board let that happen, sweeping it under the rug and saying we just deal with it isn't good enough. 1 injury and 1 suspension is all it will take for our defence to hit **** street.

We need to be prudent - but not negligent.
We aren't talking about selling our soul here.
We have a surplus on player sales / purchases (inc wages) of close to £40 million and that represents no additional investment from the club. The squad is weaker than last season during which time we were shockingly bad.
As for inflated prices.
We needed to bring players in positions like left back, midfield, (we also now know the club were selling Siggy before the end of last season), CB and wingers before the transfer window opened. Had we been organised most of those deals would have been don well before Thursday 31st August.
If we had spent properly there would be no need to spend any money (or only a small amount) in January. If we do the club's owners, backers and EPL/TV payments should provide a decent sum.
