If I'm honest, I really don't care. Sfc won & VD lost. Next step is really up to him. Of course, I'd like him to knuckle down & perform. Personally I'm not interested in words, just actions which will be proven by MP picking him for the 1st team at some stage & then VD performing to the standard that made him so sought after. We then get to Jan & we'll just have to wait & see.

 

Just to finish this thread off, we should put together a list of all the "experts" who "promoted" the VD to Liverpool extravaganza. Just so we can remind ourselves of all the tossers. I'll start if off with Alan Brazil

The worst two were Aldridge for saying that VD should strike and Redtwat for obvious reasons.

I think all Saints fans should rehearse saying TOLD YOU SO when Liverpool come to St Mary's.

Kind of my point, whole debate many pages back that Liverpool never actually bid for him in the first place!

 

Ah yes, of course. But then they said they wouldn't. And we wouldn't have accepted it anyway if they had. Which is why they didn't, perhaps.

I guess it's time we could start taking people at their word, instead of thinking in ever more twisted ways to suit our desires. You never know, it might catch on.

 

Scoucers being true to their word? Behave! It was like being on tag for them, they knew that they were already caught out but couldn't go past the door to sort it out.

 

Actually, I meant taking our management at their word. Liverpool did as they were told because, as you say, they were caught.

 

I still think if an actual bid of any importance came in they would have taken, except of course from Liverpool. That was what VD wanted though, for once player power loses out and ****ing good on them!
