As I've said elsewhere, what the hell was the point in promotion. It just makes looking around the league with barely-concealed jealousy all the worse. Better to be a big fish in a pond than a piece of **** floating around the ocean.

Probably the opposite is true. We need to fluke a good finish in the league and someone might see us as worth what will be enough buy Ashley out. He's not going to get his money back (c. £300m) if we are in the lower leagues.
Maybe this is Ashley's plan? Get promoted, spend nothing but reap the benefits of Sky money and go back down so we don't have to spend it!
