I think we've done well today. Good players in with known quality, bearing in mind we've got a pittance to spend. All three are above the level I expected, not way above it like but still above.
The Echo are saying Kone is not going as Palace have sorted out their deal with Liverpool over Sakho or whatever his name is. That was a couple of hours, ago.
So be it. I'd rather Kone went, as I've made clear my opinions on him, but if he stays he's not a bad player. I still can't comprehend we had no plan B regarding McCormack. That's gonna bite us if anything happens to Grabban.
I'm pleased Kone is still with us, not because I'm a big fan of his but because it would have left us well short at CB. Kone and Wilson should make a good pair.
You'd think so wouldn't you? Kone is capable, it's hard to forget how utterly superb him and Kaboul were as a pair, again Kaboul was a bit better on the ball so maybe we have that again. We can but hope, cos we need the defence solid with the options up front. There's a chance here for Maja or Asoro to get a real head start in their careers.
Sunderland are set to loan wantaway duo Wahbi Khazri and Papy Djilobodji on Deadline Day to free up funds to bring in a couple of new players. Khazri is on the verge of joining Rennes until the end of the season, while ex-Chelsea defender Djilobodji is in talks with Dijon. We understand Sunderland are interested in Bournemouth defender Marc Wilson after having an unsuccessful enquiry for Aston Villa's Tommy Elphick this afternoon. Ross McCormack could yet arrive on loan from Aston Villa, however there's been no approach yet for the Scotland international. Remains to be seen happy at the moment sounds good
That's not bad that, two decent players on permanents and the injury prone one on loan. Good stuff. I think we'll enjoy watching McManaman.
Mac will be good for us I think, despite his position not being a priority, he'll graft his balls off for us which is the mould Grayson wants. Means Watmpre will probably play down the middle id guess. Wilson is solid, was at Stoke for ages o think and with this throughout their rise to where they're at now. Williams I don't know much about in all honesty.
Mcmanaman I have always liked and I'm sure we've had a few discussions about him on here. Yeah we don't really need him, but then we do need bodies and he's got a bit of quality, so we can't grumble. He likes running at people and you can never have too much of that.
So excuse me if I've missed a bit...... A couple of days back West Ham were going to sign either ndong or carvallo If they signed carvallo then rodwell would be his replacement. Did West Ham end up doing anything?
Ive not heard his name mentioned for a few years but he was once a big prospect. The fact McClean kept him out of the Wba side worries me abit though.
I know what you mean but from what I've seen of him Mac is the better quality player. McClean is faster and stronger which I guess was what Pulis was after more.
Good news if true. As we've hit our max of 5 loans in a match day squad, we can sign more on loan but going to be a put off knowing they might not even make the match day squad.
