Today as well as York we have Sandown, Bangor, Salisbury, Wolverhampton and across the Sea at Kilbeggan and Wexford. My strongest bet of the week arrives today so fingers crossed
Some interesting comments made re young Joseph O'Brien last night, would the pocket talkers please step forward For me the lad had 2 rides and rode bad races on both, but that's my opinion, sad that after saying he had undercooked ATD Mr O'Brien is now saying that the horse has a temperature. Fingers crossed it drops back down and the horse gets to race back down in the right grade again Onto the racing today: 200: John Dunlop does not send his horses this far north for the run out! Warlu Way needs an end to end gallop and hopefully will get that today. Phil Makin is aboard and won on him last time he rode and makes for a cracking EW bet at 14s. 340: Love these sprints but with 4 of my favourites racing in Captain Dunne (won us bundles on Derby Day), Masamah (has won us loads too at Ascot and Goodwood), Hamish McGonagall who always runs an honest race and Prohibit (provided us with huge profits at Royal Ascot) competing with the ever improving Hoof It. I know i will choose the wrong one ! Today the money's down on Masamah to win and Prohibit EW although i feel sure he needs a stiffer track Be lucky all who play
I just hope Hoof It wins today after his superb Stewards Cup rout off top weight. Not betting at York, had enough of it already!! Off to study the other cards!
Anyone see the Barcelona - Real Mardid game the other night? Some of the most stunning football I've ever seen plus a good scrap at the end. Available on http://footyroom.com/
After backing Bapak for the Nunthorpe and we all know what happened with that one... I have now gone for Hoof it and a saver on Reqinto...
I think Requinto has a major chance today- has not lost at 5F- has an incredibly low weight and if things go his way will take all the beating!! I was also contemplating Masamah but will want a stiffer track! If it does dry out and he manages to hug the rail will come close!!
Nass: I guess you mean the 315! How often does Sir Michael send 4 newcomers to one race!! Hartside looks very interesting on breeding
morning men starboard 10 im with nass re york, however will have ew on hamish message to ginger rob, stop looking and join 606, you know who you are stay frosty
Requinto the 2yo against older seasoned campaigners will be very interesting. Kingsgate Native managed to do it in 2007 so it can be done! Should be a better price though IMO but maybe that highlights what a great chance the horse has
Masamah has won here 3 times so how do you get he needs a stiffer track? Prohibit deffo does but not Masamah
Danbo you nugget you asked for a winner at York 3 days ago and i gave you Warlu Way in the 200 mate, get on it before the price tumbles, Mr Makin rides
Ballymacoll are having a distinctly ordinary year with their best results being Fiorente’s 2nds in the King Edward and Gordon. They have had a 2yo winner in Croquembouche but he doesn’t look to be one heading for pattern company. Their most interesting 2yo out so far has been El Greco and his introductory 2nd to Clare Island Bay looks reasonable form. He holds an entry for the Royal Lodge and could be a good colt: they need one! Today they introduce a further 2yo debutant in Debating Society. This Invincible Spirit colt is the 6th foal to get to the races out of the Caerleon mare Drama Class (grand-daughter of the Oaks and Leger winner Sun Princess). Two of the 4 winners produced by this mare have been group class (Scottish Stage who finished 2nd in the Irish Oaks and Ribblesdale and Eleonora Duse who won a Group 2 last year). Both these fillies won as 2yos which is a rarity for Ballymacoll 2yos. Today Debating Society makes his debut in the 7f maiden at Sandown and will be ridden by Richard Mullen. Interestingly Stoute also runs another colt in this maiden, Hartside, ridden by Jimmy Fortune. Now Fortune is the more established jockey and maybe you’d expect him to be on the stable’s number one but Mullen is often used by Stoute to ride newcomers and has won on them. Perhaps Hartside is the stable number one but gallops reports have been more complimentary about the Ballymacoll colt than Hartside so I will be making a small investment on Debating Society 3.15 Sandown.
Bustino, Sir Michael has 4 in the race, 2 at the bottom also with young L-P Beuzelin riding one Looks a very tricky maiden with good reports coming from the Roger Varian yard also mate
alright folks. only occasional poster, got work to do unlike you scrotes! but really think piccadilly filly is overpriced in the nunthorpe.100-1 available now! her recent form has been as good as last years before the race, they think she's as good at home and I like the way she front runs but doesn't fold when caught. chance anyway
Yes that's right. I always see Beuzelin as riding a 2nd string. 3 days ago Debating Society was the only one with a jockey: R Mullen. No doubt he'll win it with his 4th string!!
