Admit it everyone... a part of you misses the deadline days where 'Arry would pull up to the cameras, wind down the window and give us a triffick piece of inside info.

Poch is way too professional for that nonsense :emoticon-0100-smile

By all accounts, the main reason Barca are keen to get rid is because Messi doesn't like him. Says he doesn't pass the ball enough to him. Sounds a bit far fetched? Welcome to Barcelona football club... or should I say 'Messturbation FC'.

Top quality player at Valencia. Tall, strong and exceptionally difficult to shrug off the ball. And, like many players who ply their trade in La Liga, is genuinely two footed (seems to be a skill that English players are allergic to). The similarities with Dembele are clear, although Gomes does like to burst into the box a bit more than the Belgian. I would be delighted if we could pull this off.

Latest on Bony is that he's due to have his medical shortly, and they hope to have the deal wrapped up by 9.00pm, which means I expect Llorente to be announced at roughly the same time.

Sanchez, Gazzanigga, Foyth, Aurier, Llorente and Gomes would represent a fantastic window IMO, in fact our best transfer window in bloomin ages.

Of course this is on paper and face value as we dont know how these players will settle at Spurs.

Its pretty obvious we will mainly be playing a variation of 3-4-2-1, falling back to a 4-2-3-1 if we have certain injuries or suspensions.

Totally shocked about the Llorente signing, never saw that coming but he is a quality player, it gives us a lump it forward Fellaini stylie option that has served United well.
We get so many corners and free kicks every game and having Llorente available to us should improve this weakness in our game.

Gomes (if he signs) is a smooth operator in midfield, great on the ball and can cover CM and AM.

Our best signing this summer for me is Davison Sanchez, this kid is going to be a collossus for us.

Not insensitive at all bro and you have no need to apologise.

Aurier calling his ex-manager a ***got is stupid, ridiculously stupid in fact (a little funny, too) but is he homophobic? Is he ****.

    Not a bad window:

Sanchez - don't know much about him but sounds like he's going to be the next best thing at CB like Toby

    Gazza - backup really

Foyth - never heard of him and he's pretty young, presumably one for the future

Aurier - Got him cheap considering what all the other defenders are going for. Should be a decent signing and take Trippiers place as trippier is a squad player and not a first team rb imo

Llorente - Great backup at a great price. He looked really good for the swans and he's a great targetman

Gomes - I differ with everyone here. I'm not sure he'll fit in brilliant. See this guy as a jack of all trades master of none. Someone mentioned he's both footed which he is. He's tidy in possession but he doesn't really play any killer balls. He likes to shoot but i don't think hes any good at it. For me he's a glorified Tom Cleverly, a ball shuffler. Probably wrong about him though. I don't think he's a dembele (one of a kind) and he's not like wanyama (solid defender). He'll be backup to Eriksen imo and a poor imitation of him as Eriksens been excellent

Maybe they could share stories with Leonid Slutsky about how they wish people stopped making fun of their names?

Valid points on Gomes and in some ways I agree with you in that he's a jack of all trades but master of none. However, in a weird way, that's exactly what we need at times under Poch's style.

Mousa's game is very simple, while he has an uncanny ability to beat a man, his game is to essentially get the ball, move it forward, beat a man or two and then lay it off to one of "the three" or a marauding full back for them to then do damage along with Kane. When Mousa plays and is 100% fit, we generally get a positive result but the problem of late is that his body just seems to be failing him and so we're only getting a good 70 minutes before we see a drop in his performance.

Having seen bits of Gomes, he's a stylish midfielder, able to beat a man (I read that he's something like 3rd or 4th highest in terms of successful dribbles from a centre mid in La Liga since 2014) and able to lay on a pass. Sounds simple, and essentially it is but that's some very similar attributes to Mousa and so if he can replicate just parts of Mousa's game while also implementing his own style, then I think it's a great bit of business for us providing we sign him on a perm, a loan deal is terrible in my opinion.

We should have told them we'll sign Messi instead, would still solve the problem.

Interesting if Gomes is seen as the future for an ageing Dembele. Clever planning.

It'll certainly be our best window in a long time, but regardless of how we go about it, I really want to see an "Aaron Lennon" type of player next season. Whether that's someone who is signed tonight (almost 100% impossible now it's 7.25pm), or someone we put our trust in from the academy.
It's a dynamic I really want us to experiment with next season. As things stand, someone like Marcus a Edwards could potentially fill that void. If he's still the best option come 11pm, let's play the lad.

Until we celebrate this transfer window as a success, surely we have to get shot of him first?

I haven't even thought about Sissoko's situation today. Is he stil here? <laugh>

Sky reporter that's providing the info about spurs today is saying that he's been getting tweets about "pace" and a "winger" all day. (I hoped he'd see them if I persisted enough <laugh>)
Apparently there's never been an interest in Mahrez, and Demarai Gray won't be happening. We supposedly bid £25m earlier in the window and it was rejected. Looking almost impossible that anyone of that ilk will be signing.
