    I thought that but didn't want to upset the Arsenal fans. The club seems to be in free fall, why would any player want to be part of that.

    Cause all those other clubs are bidding for VvD now aren't they. And what happens if he turns them down?

    Also no guarantee Netherlands will qualify, currently 3rd

    I read reports that we are happy to call his bluff and let him stew on the sidelines all season if neccessary, can he really afford to do that at a peak time in his career?

    Agree with this. Netherlands doubtful to qualify so no need for VVD to play regularly and well for anybody <laugh>
