And we don't intend on making bids until there's 46 of those minutes left.

Well I've been banned from Twitter for 12 hours. Thought it better expressing my rage there than here.

Fear not, ladies and gents - we've put in a bid. A real one. For Rafael Cabral.

    (he's a goalkeeper, Reina's understudy at Napoli.)

Why is Krul going out on loan? Couldn't we just have offered him on a free transfer?

He does only have this season to go on contract?

Hang on a sec. I'm a little confused by something else here.

We had a wage bill in the Championship of x. We got promoted - now, call me crazy, but I think that means our revenue has gone up by around £60m. Our Net spend on players is, what, £15m so far. So it stands to reason that - given the numbers out and numbers in - that our wage bill, which was sufficiently low in the Championship to allow us to buy Ritchie, Gayle, etc., is more or less the same but we have SIGNIFICANTLY more revenue to rely on. It then just doesn't stack up that we NEED to sell players. Surely what we NEED to do is bring in players of quality, regardless (to a point) of cost in this window.

I've just read that our Net Spend on transfers since Ashley took over in 2007 is just £22m. 10 years, where's the money gone? Even taking into account the relegations, we still somehow owe the fat one £110m or so, yet inexplicably have no money and an over-inflated wage bill this season?

I don't get it. I don't get why we didn't just release Riviere, Colback, De Jong, Krul, and so on from their contracts really early. We've earned no money selling them and haven't any time to replace.

It just smacks of abysmal management of the lowest order and, above all that, a massive web of lies, deceit and misinformation. Is any other club like this?

I'm also confused by the other things you mentioned - unless we ran at a big loss in the Championship to try and get promoted and are having to rein it in now.

However I'm pretty sure the reason we didn't just release the above from their contracts is that if we had we'd have had to pay them out in full - so we might as well have them sitting around on the bench/hope someone comes in for them with an offer that means we can mitigate some of the loss.

I still think loaning Krul to Brighton is madness though. Unless Rafa has told him that his only way back into the United team is to act as a secret agent and get Brighton relegated.

Well worse than that, we're now sitting with TWO left backs (Lazaar, Haidara), a midfielder (Colback) and our actual no.9 (Gayle) who all know they're not actually wanted by the club?

Words fail me, I cannot express how badly this club is being run.

Sense is not allowed, we don't have money, we're lucky to have MA, get used to it.
Who cares if we've literally just freed up over 100k in the wage budget, we have no money

Even if we did you'd hedge your bets and spend money to stay up and claim the £100 million prize as opposed to standing completely still while everyone else improves, thereby increasing your chances of going straight back down and missing out on the cash. Ashley, Wise, Jiminez, Carr, Charnley, all parasites that have ruined this club for the last decade. If this had happened to other clubs the fans would have deserted in their thousands.

Well, sure, I know what Mr. Ashley has SAID. But where's the money we should have gone? Personal opinion - Charnley is an accountant. A bang average one. But he does things a certain bean-counter-ish way. I don't know how other clubs do it, but it seems they do it properly and allow for money to be spent on players.

Out of interest, does anyone know how many employees the club has? In comparison to, say, West Brom - they have Guochan Lai (Owner), Martin Goodman (CEO), John Williams (Chairman), Richard Garlick (Dir. Of Football Admin), Simon Carrington (Club Secretary - that's what Charnley was), Nick Hammond (Tech Director), Li Piyue (Director), Martin Swain (Dir of Comms), Peter Band (Exec Director), Mark Miles (Dir. of Ops) and SImon King (CCO).

Newcastle United - Lee Charnley (MD). Bob Moncur (Ambassador). Erm. That's it. If this isn't a massive problem I don't know what is.

Oh, and let's not forget we have Mike's buddy, Justin Barnes, hanging around the place - presumably with a final say on everything. Or at least until Ashley discovers he's fiddled him on a deal somewhere and he ends up in court.

Why is Rafael Benitez still here?

Even if they do have a plan, and targets in mind, they will be waiting until the dominoes start to fall - not realising that they will probably start to fall at about half ten tonight, leaving no time to react.
