So. Looks like the Gooners are seeking to swap out Ox and Sanchez for Lemar. £90m. I'm not gonna lie. I'd love Levy to jump on this. I know it ain't gonna happen, but if ever there were an opportunity....
Would a player of Lemar's quality want to jump on board a sinking ship? He's not stupid. More players want to leave there than stay and he'll see that. Breaks my heart
Afternoon guys! So just managed to tune in to what's going on and seen we've pretty much got Llorente? Decent striker and a good back up option for Kane. Wish we'd signed him 3 years ago when we were last linked, to be honest. Only issue I have is that he doesn't really offer us anything new up top, but a decent player all the same. As for Janssen looking like he could be on the way out, if he does go (on loan that is), I think that's the end of him in a spurs shirt for good. If he plays well at his new club due to regular football, he'll want to continue that into another season. And to be honest, in the current market, levy will probably be able to make a decent profit on him. if he doesn't do the business elsewhere, we're not gonna wanna keep him either. If the £25m West Brom offer is true, it's good business for us having only paid £17m, and him contributing very little. Really hope there's another packet attacking player to come over the next few hours. COYS
....and this is exactly what I'd be seeking to whisper in Lemar's ear if I were Levy. Along with... 'Champions League? or Europa League?.....step up? or step down?'
I'd started to do that watch tapping thing. We've been very patient. I wonder how many seconds before the deadline this'll get sorted? Apparently, Barkley's not the sharpest tool in the box. I can't wait for him to threaten strike action........from the treatment room.
Sky now reporting that we're not going to pursue Barkley until the next window. Makes total sense IMO.
Oh please no. This'll be our last deal of the window if it goes ahead. Reports still unanimous that Levy is about as interested as I am, but that Poch is desperate to bring him on board. Of course it is nice to see a fairly powerful chairman placing so much faith in his manager, but I can't help but feeling Levy has (for once) taken the correct stance on this. Llorente is an excellent acquisition. Enables us to properly utilise Toby and Jan's ability to pick out a pass and for us to change tactics if necessary. For example, he would allow us to face Pool and City and counter their pace by dropping deeper than usual using a target man to make use of the long balls out . Those saying he is similar to Kane obviously haven't watched much of Llorente. He is a proper target man. Superior in the air and at making the ball stick. Kane is good at those things but Llorente is superb. Also a proper 18 yard poacher - again something Kane isn't renowned for. We've been crying out for a wise old head on the training ground and he ticks that box perfectly. No brainer for £12m. Janssen clearly not trusted by Poch and I think it is obvious why not.
Dier has just been on instagram taking the piss out of walker calling him a "traitor". Sounds pretty funny right? Except walkers reply was "no one called you a traitor when you wanted to go to Man United". Don't think that's gonna go down well.
