They didn't mind it either when David Lloyd was using money diverted from Hull City to refurbish the boulevard, especially the rake off from the League Cup game at Newcastle and the Thriller at the Villa fiasco. His plan at the time was to have City playing there too. Hull FC were called Hull Sharks in those days.

Was that before or after they were Gateshead FC trading as Hull FC? Hard to keep track of all the changes.

Funny now that it has come full circle and we are now 1904, or Hull Tigers, or Hull City Tigers. Hard to keep track of all the changes

We have never changed. Only in the heads of Allam and is apparatchiks. We have never played under a different name, unlike FC. Try again.

Most rational FC fans have always stated and indeed still do that the SMC should be run by a neutral party and not the owner of either clubs, Pearson agreed back then but no one else wanted it, he still agrees now but the Allam's have made it impossible for anyone to buy it. FC fans were quite happy with Pearson's work as head of the SMC, despite what a tiny online minority might have said.

Its only since the Allam's took over and started to deliberately annoy them by relaying the pitch during their season, changing pitch dimensions and charging them to hang pictures did they start to get annoyed. You should understand because the Allam's have been using the same petty tactics on our fans for years too.

They altered the pitch dimensions? The pitch is laid out to the same size as the pitch at Wembley for both sports. Which made the warmest discussion about the teams having to adjust to the large pitch at Wembley on RH each year one of the clubs have got there all he more amusing. All stadiums built in the last few years have a standard sized pitch to meet UEFA requirements.

The council are to blame for not realising the implications at the outset. They felt they had nobody capable of doing it, quite correctly - just imagine the likes of Geraghty or Brady running it. The stadium is just going to deteriorate as things are.

They replaced the grass around the pitch with 3G a few years ago. This didn't effect the football markings but the area replaced was part of the in goal areas for RL. You can have a 3G pitch in RL but you can't have a part grass part 3G pitch so they had to shorten the in goal areas to accommodate this. Apparently they were consulted about the change but they ignored their requests and did it anyway.

I agree on the council thing, they should have had a plan in place, Pearson only ran it because no one else would.

I'm pretty sure there is a difference between pitch sizes at different grounds, within a prescribed range. Didn't Stoke narrow theirs to the minimum allowed in the Delap days?

Hull has a rugby club called FC, why not Gateshead? Anyway, Gateshead merged with Hull Sharks and the new club was called Hull FC. It was registered as Gateshead trading as Hull FC. Sounds more like a takeover than a merger. Maybe it was for tax reasons as Hull Sharks didn't know what to do with all the money from their huge crowds.

Because Gateshead FC are an association football club and Gateshead Thunder were a rugby league football club, no need to argue, you just got the name wrong.

We don't argue or point out mistakes on here. Some people get awfully upset when glaringning accuracies are pointed out. Or call the poster pedantic. Others refuse to acknowledge them. Some even lock threads or ban people rather than admit they were wrong.

We should be thankful how the name ended up after the takeover by Gateshead, or Allam would have seen the shorter version of Hull Football Club as a sound marketing tool.

Utter ****e is something that is incorrect. Although some delicate things resort to calling anything which doesn't fit in with their narrative ****e. Now run along...

Correct. The 30 to 40 metre line (or it could be the 40 metre to Half Way line) is not a full 10 metres now. Also, the in-goal area is around 2 metres shorter than it was
