I think it's also about not being in Europe this year. We can't rotate like we did last year and keep more players happy so best to loan them out for a year. We'll need them all back next year for our Europa commitments. ;-) Also helps maintain a decent wage bill.

If Newcastle are offering regular first team football for Targett, then I would very much be in support of that. We can easily cope for 12 months with Bertrand and McQueen. I personally would be all over getting Mirrales here, by the way. Very much sounds like he is available, on a permanent deal only.

Newcastle said not to be happy about how expensive Targett is....possibly true if the money quoted for Gallagher was true. And we want to be assured that he gets game time....no manager would like to be constrained with team selection. Newcastle aren't exactly a tin pot club.
Looks like he made 35 league appearance last season. If missing just three league games means injury prone, I'd take that. Hands down a better player than Tadic.
