Many on Twitter seem to think that Oliveira's to Reading is a done deal and the reason it hasn't happened so far is that Farke desperately wanted to keep him but has been overruled by the board. I find it hard to believe as that would just leave us with CJ and Marley's ghost up front. However, IF that were proven to be true we should hound that bloody woman and her bleedin' cronies out of this club once and for all IMO
Nope but I couldn't be arsed to trawl thru this entire thread, so please accept my sincere apologies my friend
Cant believe we would be left with CJ plus one other from midfield! If Basil is off then we will not finish in top 6. Let's hope the rumour dies a natural death.
Goldson is a CB, can play RB. Not a bad player. Like Hanley. Not exciting, but at least they are better options than the Germans with some actual Championship experience. Goldson is about 6'3, like Hanley. So fits that criteria for this Summer!
Pretty positive response from what I can see about Grant. Kind of what I said, if 4M it's decent money, bet his wages are big. Decent Championship signing.
When the rumours of Leistner fizzled out, I was concerned about our CB options not being added to. From what I've seen so far of our team defending, personnel isn't the only problem, but it was certainly a part of it. I think Hanley is a wise choice. At his age and with his CV, a poor season with us probably won't effect his resale value, we'd still get about the same for him in 12 months time. If we have had to be creative with the accounting in order to sign him, it's not as concerning as it could have been. Seems like exactly the type of signing that the fans have been wanting. ReadNorwich appear to be the only people reporting us standing a chance of signing Goldson, Ipswich is his destination according to everyone else. It'd be nice to scoop them there though! Hey Cromer, it might even be a swoop?!
Now the rumour mill has moved onto CJ. Apparently, Derby are keen for £3.0m. Surely we wouldnt sell both our strikers? Of the two that we have, I can see CJ leaving but hope that he is replaced before the transfer deadline
What time does this bloody window "slam" shut? (If you slam a window I am pretty sure there will be glass broken).
If Oliveira leaves today we are screwed. No way we would replace him today. We might bring in a striker on loan or a non-league German. But not a replacement for a proven goalscorer. Arguably our only one.
Well, all I can say is that should either CJ and/or Basil be sold then I can foresee another stint in League 1!!!!! I'll be glad when the next 17 hours or so have passed. Edit - I've just seen that Klopp plans a £175M spending spree today mainly funded by the sale of Coutinho to Barca for approx £150M
Basil to Swansea for £12m? So we could be left with just CJ. Are NCFC so desperate that we will be left with only one striker? Surely not or am I only deluding myself?
Just this one report from what I can see? Nothing additional on the Swansea newsnow page, so hopefully deadline day bluster only? And anyway, I thought it was Reading after him - this mentions Wolves & Leeds http://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-12m-bid-tabled-leeds-wolves-striker-target/
From another report linking Oliveira with Swansea: Class journalism, as we currently sit in the bottom 3 (three)
I heard this morning Lorente to Chelsea or A title rival I can't remember, which would then trigger Swansea going in big for Bony. Would they try and sign both?
