*Looks back to see that nobody said that. Just two people pointing out he's injured. No, one person, the other saying they thought he was injured. Just saying.
Brugge isn't too terrible of a landing spot for Clasie; he can expect to play consistently on a team that'll stand out against its competition, and while that isn't exactly the most highly-rated league, it's loaded with young talent and thus well-scouted...probably a better landing spot to showcase his abilities than in the physical Championship.
IF Vietto happens, I think most Saints fans would be excited at the prospect of him taking the CAM position, in front of Lemina and Romeu, behind Gabbiadini. However I have this nagging worry that he'd actually join the bank of wider players we have vying for Tadic and Redmond's positions, Davis would keep his CM/CAM role and very little would change. Someone please convince me I'm wrong!
That's my concern/expectation, definitely. That he'd be a backup striker/occasionally get used wide with Davis retain his position as creative engine.
I am starting to think a 4-3-3 may be preferable for us or 4-2-3-1 with Lemina higher and Davis behind.
I've been finding myself starting to advocate this more and more in recent weeks - particularly with Gabbi to the left of Austin. And that will only increase if nothing changes in the next 24 hours (and I'm sure it wont).
Can't wait for the "i am led to believe that reports saints are in talks with 'insert star player here' are wide of the mark" tweet from a club briefed journalist later today. Always kills off the day nicely.
Not really. Sounds like a pretty unpleasent character. You can forgive a few idiosyncracies if a player has the talent, but who needs a walking PR disaster and potential jailbird?
The main reason I hate the transfer window is that I go from never having heard of a player to everything being a calamity if we don't sign them. It's pathetic but I can't help myself.
I miss that star of so many deadline days, the fax machine. Apparently still in use just a couple of years ago in Manchester as blamed for the 'non' transfer of De Gea.
Then you start scanning Wiki and You Tube, find videos of the player looking amazing and then suddenly you remember (insert name of disappointing signing). As The Who said "Won't Get Fooled Again" but of course you know, as they did, that you will!
Mini recap on players we've been linked with this window..: Emre Mor - Signed for Celta Vigo on a permanent deal. Stuart Armstrong - signed contract extension with Celtic Patrick Roberts - went back to Celtic on loan Yann Karamoh - still in an On:Off transfer negotiation with Inter. Out of contract in Jan and it's expected Caen will sell today Luciano Vietto - been part of the first team squad at Athletico and replaced the suspended Griezmann in the last game. With their transfer ban, seems unlikely he will move this window. Possible Jan move
