Huddersfield loaned themselves to promotion and it hasn't done them any harm.

The issue is the wider damage it has done to the leagues, it feeds in to a handful of clubs monopolizing talent knowing they can loan them out and then sell them en mass. Aaron Mooy is a fine example of it.

I know what your saying mate but i honestly think weve got a squad capable of promotion once we get McNair and Watmore back from injury. I expect Watmore to find the net quite a few time this season playing at this level.

Our central midfield is probably the strongest in the league. If we can bring in another striker and a decent CB then i personally will be very optimistic.

Watmore should be an absolute weapon at this level, hopefully a few goals as well.

Just depends how long it takes him to get fully back to playing, we might not see his best much for a while.

Hes back training with the first team now apparantly. McNairs still a couple of weeks away.
Maja will be a good impact sub for us aswell when he returns.

Might be a while before he's at full pelt of course but he was really looking the part prior to injury.

Squad is too small for me fella. You're talking about 2 players coming back. Small squads mean more injuries and look how we struggle with just two out. Nah, decent team on the day doesn't mean a squad with enough depth to mount that kind of challenge imo.

Don't think there's any chance for a promotion push. We're paper thin and no goalscorer at present.

Yeah i agree about the goalscorer. We cant rely ond Grabban but i think Watmore could hit double figures. He used to be prolific for the U23s playing central.
With our strongest first 11 as it stands, our bench could be any from the following..
    Steele
    Oshea
    Gibson
    Rodwell
Honeyman (Will be replaced with McNair).
    Vaughan(will be replaced by Watmore).
    Maja
    Gooch
    Asoro
    Mathews
    Galloway (replaced with Oviedo).
    Love..

Thats a pretty good squad at this level in my opinion.

I hope/expect to see a new CB to replace Papy added to that list aswell and hopefully another striker.

I don't see goals. Agree on Watmore but he's never going to be prolific. No goals, no creation and no safe defenders. We're well stacked in CM and everywhere else is paper thin. I mean half of them don't have 30 pro games between them. As talented as our youth team have looked I think it's a push to expect so many to provide adequate depth, some will step up and be counted but I doubt all. We'll have to agree to disagree on this fella. We look like a club that's been stripped back and reassembled on a shoestring.

Watmore used to score for fun but has struggled since making the step up, but could be the surprise packet of the season once he is fit, and up to speed, our central midfield are not creative enough for me, and need to get into the box more to help the strikers out, a few goals and a win or two would be the best tonic for our current ills, and the sooner the better. Like to see Maja back to boost our options off the bench too. Vaughn, Grabban, Watmore, Maja and Asoro should see us OK imo if they can all keep reasonably fit that is.

So so harsh, We played him on the wing in a break through season then he got injured.

He was never prolific for u21 either. More of a ball carrier than a striker for me. I'd look to play him deeper in a counter game.
