So I've the day off tomorrow for deadline day, and I'm thinking I've probably squandered a days leave. £20 for 40 Becks at Asda though so that's a win.
Literally the worst window in our history and that's saying something. I bet there are players 'lining up', unfortunately they are from League 1
I'm fully expecting Newcastle to sell a player tomorrow and buy no-one. Maybe loan one player. At least you're in a league where you can be competitive, we're lining up for a season of pain and just shrugging our shoulders.
Ohhh I don't I expect us to off load our high earners And recruit people who will play for nowt Then short will be happy That's the main objective We may then be able to move on with people who want to play for us
So today has consisted of being linked with a young lad from Man City, Elphick and McCormack at Villa and letting Khazri go out on loan. Good prep for tomorrow!!
I'll pay for the fuel. I dont care if we pay his wages. It means he cannot play for us. Or he could have a fab season and we sell him for £20 mill
Leaving everything to the last minute though Vince. And the way our club is managed, the only players wanting to play for us are lower league players and journeyman wanting another seasons wages at our expense.
Keep up mate, if he has a fab season we will loan him to a slightly bigger French team next season. We have set this blueprint with Lens this year, it's the future of the club
Sunderland are set to loan wantaway duo Wahbi Khazri and Papy Djilobodji on Deadline Day to free up funds to bring in a couple of new players. Khazri is on the verge of joining Rennes until the end of the season, while ex-Chelsea defender Djilobodji is in talks with Dijon. We understand that Sunderland are interested in Bournemouth defender Marc Wilson after having an unsuccessful enquiry for Aston Villa's Tommy Elphick this afternoon. Ross McCormack could yet arrive on loan from Aston Villa, but there's been no approach yet for the Scotland international. Remains to be seen
Free up funds! SG was either lying or really did not know about available funds when he said "we won't have the biggest budget , but it certainly won't be the smallest' feck me! I would like the club to come out again and say where our debt now amounts to? We were £100 million in debt, we get what £50m in parachutes? Sold Pickford for £30m and I bet it is claimed we are still about £90m in debt. The derisory amount we have spent on transfers would be embarrassing for a league 2 club. I have this theory Martin Bain spends most of his days on money supermarket looking for new balance transfer offers to switch our debt between!
Thought Bain was doing a great job until we agreed to send our 4 most saleable assets out on loan at a time when we are desperate for money. Anyone could have negotiated us a good deal for Pickford, he's young and going to be world class. The rest of the outgoings have been absolutely jaw-droppingly poor from the clubs side. It's like clubs now know we are a soft touch and will take a loan offer. Loans eat into the remaining contract and lower the players sale value. It's beyond naive, it's absolute scandal how poor the club remains in this area. We got McGeady for peanuts, but Everton wanted him gone, and I still fear that that wasn't 250k, but an offset or clause against Pickford lowered the fee.
