In all seriousness though, if you take his comments about the club taking youth seriously at face value, then it's great to see.
Being able to attract promising youngsters by offering them the opportunity to force their way into the side is important.
We can't compete financially with a lot of the clubs around us unfortunately, but we can beat them at this game.

Want to be the next Harry Kane, Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen? Come to Spurs.

I've always wanted the interviewer to pose some sort of challenge when players use that cliche.

"Oh really? Followed them since you were a boy, you say? What was your favourite Willem Korsten goal?"

"Oh, well you know. Ah. Erm... well I. You know, there are just so many. It's impossible to, you know, to pick one out." (stewardess smile)

(stoney faced) "There were only 3. And I'd go for one of the 2 beauties he scored in that famous 3-1 win at the Lane."

(stammering) "Oh yes, oh yes of course! I must have misheard you! I thought you said David Ginola. How stupid of me. Oh yes, Korsten. Yes of course...the famous win. Against Arsenal wasn't it? What a day! I remember my father flew me over from Argentina just to watch the north london derby."

(staring daggers). "It was against United."

(bursts into tears) "Okay I confess!!" (weeping openly) "I'm sorry! Spurs were **** when I was a kid. We all supported Arsenal."

(comforting tone) "There, there. It'll be ok. Chin up lad and don't you worry. The tables have very much turned."

Sanchez and Foyth effectively replace Walker and Wimmer.
    Aurier is another defender.
Do you not think Levy should be looking at another source of goals in case Kane and/or Alli are injured or out of form, especially given the demands of what could be a 60+ game season if Spurs progress in the CL and the cups?

Oxlade-Chamberlain heading to Anfield for £40m. Roy Keane is absolutely right. When bang average players go for £30-40m, what hope do sides have to afford the genuine stars?

    Hmmm.....
29 hours left, 3 games into the season already.
Sissoko was the answer when the question was asked this time last year: "Who can you get if you splash the cash at the last minute in the transfer window?"

Totally agree mate, we cant afford top players in their prime so we have to buy em young and develop them into top players. Foyth is meant to be a real talent but of course we will have to see how he addapts to English football.

Hopefully Aurier gets announced tonight, we all know he is a nutcase and it may or not end in tears but theres no doubting his ability.

That leaves us to tomorrow, its imperative we sign at least one attacker. Lets hope Levy can pull off something special. Its his day tomorrow......................

It's been this way every year since the transfer window was invented. I'm calm in the sense that with Aurier, we are at least back to the level we were at last season. With Sanchez in and Lamela returning from injury, plus the likelihood that our youngsters will take another step towards their peak, I believe that we have it in us to be slightly better. Do we have the depth to compete on 4 fronts? Absolutely not. As things stand (pretending for a moment that Wembley isn't a big deal), I think we can make top 4 again and challenge for a domestic trophy; but that the other domestic trophy will be a short-lived experience and the Champions league will quickly become the Europa League, which we will crash out of soon after similar to last season.

Luke, believe me, we've discussed your questions to death, for months! <laugh>
a lot of us think we need a player as competition in attack. Some want a striker to compete with Kane, some want a fast winger/forward to compete for places in the positions behind Kane. Some don't think we need anyone.

If we're going to get a decent attacking player in our price/wage range, then it's probably going to have to be on TDD. Whenever we identify someone earlier in the window we get gazumped - Willian, Batshuayi, Martial, etc.

Let's go big........and get Crouchie back!

It just seems such an opportunity missed (potentially).
Your defence is so strong already.
To have a goal scoring game changer on the bench would strike fear into teams here and abroad.
You should look to strengthen when you are already strong. It gives time to a new player to settle and it provides a plan B for those days when your best players don't deliver.
A marquee signing would lift the whole club too.
Now is the time to spend £50M+ on a superstar player.
But it won't happen because it will probably undermine the wages structure.

Current nonsense seems to suggest that Demarai Gray is next on the list.
Should've gone in for him when he was at Birmingham, in my opinion.
I like him but it would annoy me if he was our latest largely unused left-winger signing.

.......and watch all the others follow our DoF and leave the club as they know what they're worth and we don't have the money.
