Well I got round to watching the full recorded 90 minutes against Liverpool on LFC.TV.

So my calm reactions to the game, watching it without my normal hysteria whilst watching live. Not far off from my original thoughts actually. :p

All the early pressure was from Sunderland.
Richardsons dithering, delayed clearance, when Suarez hand balls, which lead to the penalty.
LFC.TV commentators agreed with me, Suarez was going away from goal and was looking for a penalty! (Their words!)
Suarez goal Richardson was at fault, he lets him run and attack the header.
I have to say Mingolet should have done better as well, the ball was coming straight at him and he looked very stiff and immobile. (IMHO Gordon would have saved it!)

Atrocious booking for Catts, bundles into Suarez who pretended he was hacked down.

Carole's goal definite foul clearly shoves Anton whilst he is in midair.

Downings shot hitting the bar, was Richardson again showing him inside onto his good foot, could have been very costly.

Dreadful tackle on Larsson by Flanagan no card shown.

Lucas bundles into Sess worse than Catts on Suarez again no booking. (Sess didn't roll on the ground pretending his leg was broken mind! :p)

Carragher should have been off for the atrocious tackle on Gyan, end of story!

Realised Bardsley's yellow was for dissent.

After Larsson scores Liverpool commentators suddenly start saying Sunderland were second best until then! WTF?

Henderson only booked after Sunderland complained about the tackle on Colback.

Gyan injured by Carragher standing on his foot, accidental though.

Adam kicks Cattermole twice when he is running at goal with the ball for his yellow, the commentators didn't see anything wrong!

Our goal seems to have turned the commentators back into biased Liverpool supporters. :)

They do mention Richardson a lot, usually, "Richardson gives the ball away AGAIN!"

Suarez is very good at diving and asking for the player to be booked whilst falling. :p

Shared first half, Sunderlands second half.

Still too much hoof ball, when we now have the players who can pass and move.
Gyan worked very hard with very little actual delivery to him.

Sunderland plus points for me .......

    Obviously Brown.

Sess looked class, great feet, if he keeps improving I think we will have a job holding onto him.

Ji could be the real deal too, showed enough to show he can handle the Prem.

Larsson, his goal speaks for itself.

    Bardsley continues to impress.

Assuming O'Shea is fit my team for the Mugs would be.

    Ming

    Ferdinand Brown O'Shea Bardsley

    Larsson Catts Colback Sess

    Gyan Ji

I definitely want us to play with two strikers.
Colback got out muscled a couple of times last week but did enough to hold his place for me.

Bruce owes us one, so he better not put out a defensive team.

Great assessment of the game mate...What I would add, which the commontators at LFC TV failed to mention, is that the Liverpool goal was offside...You can Google it and freeze the picture as the free kick is taken, and I would say he is definitely half a yard off, and the linesman is right on line and should have spotted it..

Just slow-mo'ed it mate he may have been a fraction off, but I would have been very disappointed if we had had that goal disallowed.
Richardson's bad defending meant he looked goalside of him across the width of the park but he wasn't even close to Suarez, when the ball was in flight.

Like your thinking, just the odd change and we're getting there.

yeah said on the other thread I'm torn with Colback or Gardner.
I do think Colback did enough to hold onto his place though.
