The current roundup sounds realistic: Reports of bids for Gayle but in reality no offers received. Gayle has supposedly told Rafa he wants to stay and fight for his place Origi the most noisily linked Gayle replacement. Liverpool want reassurances he’d play regularly and plenty of other clubs are interested - a red line for MA. Kenedy deal is looking shaky after Oxlade-Chamberlain has rejected a move to Chelsea. Rafa still wants a GK - Wayne Hennessey currently looking the most likely... Nicolas Tagliafico - his representative has described doing a deal with NUFC as ‘complex’. Another MA red line.
We keep hearing that we need to offload to allow incomings... then out goes Riviere..... no incomings... then out goes De Jong... no incomings.... then out go Hanley and Lazaar today...... At what point, with potentially 4 out the door does someone walk through it? My worry is that we then ship out Colback and Krul too.. plus Gayle (so 7 OUT) and we get fed the 'we didn't have time to get player x over the line' tripe..... In Rafa's defence though he did flag a few weeks ago that some championship clubs were waiting till the last minute to get a financial advantage. I'm crossing the lot in the hope that with potentially 7 outgoings... we get at least 2-3 in but I'm expecting the worst tbf.
Wouldn't it be nice for once to be...oh, what do they call it...."Pleasantly Surprised"? Two days to go. Definite outgoings - Hanley, Colback, Lazaar, Possible outgoings - Krul, Darlow, Saivet, Gayle, Haidara. Minimum requirement - Attacking Midfielder, Left back. Additional requirement - Striker, Goalkeeper. I think that's where we are. So... LEFT BACK: Would be great to see Nicolas Tagliafico tied up, as £4m is good money and he's got a really solid reputation. Might be another duffer, but competition for Dummett would be good enough. At least Chancel has proven his worth by being so versatile, but we need specialist. ATTACKING MID: Rumours about that Denis Praet is high on the target list and would take up whatever budget we have left with a £18m bid. This would completely solve the No.10 issue and provide Perez with someone to learn from in that role. Failing Praet, it would be worth taking a punt on Jack Wilshere in a more advanced role; I think it would suit him better. Jota would be a sensible option having played well for Brentford and at just £6m is a good shout. GK: If we do progress with a keeper it would have to be Jose Reina. We took a punt on Sels who was supposed to have a great reputation and was a sack of crap. We really need someone exceptional to give Woodman the right learning platform, with Elliot kept as able 2nd choice. Outside of Reina I'm not sure I've much confidence in any of the other names. STRIKER: Finally, and we'd need to sell Gayle to even fund it, there's the striker. The best option available as I can see it would be Divock Origi. Unlikely to be happy at being third choice for a third season and with a fair few PL games and goals under his belt, he's a decent all rounder and a considerable upgrade on Gayle. Failing that, and depending what happens at Stamford Bridge, Michy Batshuayi would also be excellent, but I just can't see him heading here when he's only competing with Morata. As an outside bet, I'd wonder about us going for Danny Ings. 8 out, 4 in given what's already happened would be a spectacular window. However, we are NUFC and I expect about 4 to leave, none to appear.
An outside bet of Joshua King? More like no feckin chance! He would be priced at over £20M! Also, since when was Colback out a definite?
loan deal to Hull seems to be the best option I've seen currently, but suspect we'd still end up picking up some of his wages
If the £15M deal for Gayle goes through I assume we will spend this on the LB and Attacking Midfielder and get a loan striker in?
Amended. Just read Josh signed a 4 year deal!!! Colback is interesting Hull and Villa, training with U-23's and would be absolutely out of his tree to hang about.
Fulham bid of £15m for Gayle has been confirmed but not currently accepted - yet. Hopefully this means we're either holding out for a bit more, or a bidding war as Wolves now seem interested - either way, we need a replacement lined up before anything else happens. Saw this earlier - http://futnsoccer.com/2017/08/30/ne...-sealing-late-move-for-27-year-old-goal-king/ Doesn't look overly impressive, but we'll see I guess...
Yep, this story's everywhere - and an excellent move for everyone. It's Gayle's level, he'll work well off Cairney and he'll be home. Also rekindled the kid in me.....THE NUMBER 9'S UP FOR GRABS AGAIN, WHO WANTS IT!!!!
Literally expect to hear we've signed no one. Deals we been chasing all summer. If it took a month and half to still be at this point, why will two days make a difference when players been going out the door for a week now. Do we not line-up moves, or do we just sit around furiously masturbating like an old-school Tash? I have absolutely no clue to the point of Charnley if Rafa's handed him his lists of players, like he has at other clubs. I've tried to remain upbeat and optimistic, but don't see how we won't pay anything but wayyy over the odds for players on deadline day. We all know mike doesn't do that. We'll probably end up with tagliafaco and some random loan a la doumbia. All I know is I'm getting wasted tomorrow
Apparently we're preparing a 20 mill bid for praet. Preparing? They wrapping it up and tying a bow around it or sumat
Who cares about the incomings??? Riviere, De Jong, Hanley all out the door and Colback and Lazaar to follow and possibly Krul, fingers crossed we haven't forgotten Henri Saviet and Jesus Gamez plays for us and they get shifted by the dealine and all.
