From what ive seen barcelona badly need a CB , Umtiti is crap , offer them vvd for 90 million euros.

 

Loan him to Barcelona for a season they have great fans, a super stadium, the climates warmer and it is a great city. He'll never want to set foot in Liverpool after living there.

I was expecting a update yesterday but all relatively quiet as of last night. Club still working hard to line up our deals and getting ready to respond if a serious offer for VVD come in which is expected. Still being told that a improved Liverpool offer, if it comes, is likely to be rejected. Club are prepared to call VVd's bluff and leave him to sit out the whole season if that's what he wants to do. Club don't think he'll do that all season but if he does thhe club are prepared for that to happen.

 

Lol Umtitti is crap? Sounds like you've formed that opinion after watching one match. If you have watched him regularly and still feel as if he's crap - care to explain why?

Ive supported barca since I was like 6 and watch all their games. Compared to past and present defenders theyve had hes not up to the mark, evidently hes not crap to be playing at that level but in regards to what barca need hes not good enough. An ageing pique looks more inpressive than he does, he makes to many mistakes and just error prone. But its not just him , the whole squad isnt good enough this year, madrid are far superior in almost every position bar Messi and suarez. The bench is poor, dennis suarez not good enough, turan dosent want to be there, i could go on.. They got delofeau back in who lets face is was poor at everton and has no final ball and paulinho will not replace Iniesta, let alone fill the whole they still havent filled since xavi left.

 

Agree on the whole, but I really rate Umtiti. Delofau and Paulinho were just weird signings.

 

Like I say hes ok, but not good enough IMO. They never replaced Puyol and the same with Xavi. Iniesta is not far behind and Busquets isnt the same without one of those 2 next to him. The spine of barca has gone and id say irreplacable really which isnt barcas fault , but theyve not even tried. Rakatic is hit and miss , Modric is twice the player and it really shows. Wont be suprised if barca finish 3rd this season.

I'd personally rather live in Liverpool than Barcelona. Catalan nationalism is pretty offensive, bunch of small minded tribalists imo.

I'd rather live in Madrid than either. Doubt Atletico can afford him though.

My stepdaughter has never been bothered by Catalan nationalists, despite living in central Barcelona for the last 3 years, although they are a bit annoying. I highly doubt that any FCB players live in central Barcelona though, there are some fabulous seaside resorts within commuting distance of Camp Nou and the training grounds, which can't truly be said of Liverpool, however nice Crosby beach is!

Fair comments about Barcelona though. But I do like Liverpool. I have liked most of the scousers I have met, it's just their football clubs - both of them - that I resent.

 

No, she is fluent in Spanish, but not Castilian! Good command of Catalan too, which probably helps.
