Fee agreed with Norwich along with medical for Hanley allegedly http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...castle-united-defender-grant-hanley-1-5168210 Liverpool are wanting assurances that he'll play if he goes out on loan - think there's a far better chance of that happening with us than most of the clubs mentioned - we'll see I guess...
Like Ratners there will be lots of links but **** all end product. Straight swap would do me. Bookends.
Need to get something sorted given Mitro looks likely to receive a 3 match ban Jovetic at Monaco now, so if Gayle is going, we better be sure we've got something sorted...
Its Ashley and Charnley though, Looking more likely to sell Gayle last minute, buy no one, blame lines and finally get benitez to walk
Not sure I'd risk getting him out now. I just don't see who we will get to replace him for the same money (assuming no further £'s will be available). Lets face it he does have goals in him and I think once he settles back into the PL and plays with another striker he will get more goals. He was Palace's top goal score in the PL for 2 years (admittedly I don't think he got more than 10) but I just don't see the benefit of getting rid of him now when the season has started. In this market all our money would get us is a Chris Wood type of player (who I do like as a striker) and taking a risk on someone like that now when you know Gayle has goals in him is just too much for me personally (maybe our history of attackers/forwards has tainted me). Unless of course there was other money floating about to top it up. Or we were freeing up space for Renato Sanchez! Just been informed Jovetic has just gone to Monaco for reported £10m - in which case scrap the above cause I would have taken Jovetic in for £10m and Gayle out for £15m better player a bit of profit - oh my god I sound like MA
So looking likely we lose Colback (Villa), Hanley (Norwich), Gayle (Leeds), Lazaar (Genoa). With the two prior exits of SDJ and some French busker there should be enough for 3, maybe 4, additions of note. This Argie LB, Batshuayi or Origi on loan, Kenedy on loan and possibly one of Jota, Praet or Wilshere. It's stronger. Not Chelsea stronger, but it's stronger. You're welcome, by the way, for setting up Transfer Deadline Day to be an even worse anti-climax than usual.
What with paying players contracts up, flogging them on the cheap and probably paying part salaries on loanees, the club seems to be bereft of profitable sellable assets. MA must be well pissed off.
My views on these as I'm bored. Colback out - good (not excellent, he is a poor player but he does try and isn't utterly useless) Hanley Out - Excellent (he's not going to play and is just going to take up wages) Lazaar out - Who? Great ship him off. Gayle Out - Unhappy if we don't replace him with someone as good or better Overall if the top three moves happen I'll be very happy! 4th is ok if it frees up other moves for us. Tagliofico In - Good (We need cover/ first team here and he's great on FM2016!!) Batshuayi/Origi - You'd have to be batshuayit crazy not to think these would be great moves for us. Amazing. Kenedy - Good Praet/Jota - Probably very good Wilshere - Excellent. Used to be over-rated and as such people want to put him down now. He's significantly better than our current central midfielders and would slot in well with the likes of Hayden/ Shelvey. Bit concerned Bournemouth don't seem to be in for him though... Overall we may get Tagliafico and Kenedy but none of the others. Anyone thinking we're getting 3+ players between now and Friday and utterly bonkers.
Think one of the possible options for the Jeroen Zoet deal is a swap with Krul - which probably makes more sense getting closer to the deadline
Riviere and de Jong gone. Looking like Hanley to Norwich and Lazaar to Benevento are pretty much done. Clearing out the deadwood. Krul and Colback next. If we sell Gayle this late on we'll just be setting ourselves up to being held to ransom. Selling clubs will know we have to buy... Which means MA wont and we'll have a grand total of 2 strikers until at least January.
We would only sell if we had someone lined up and a deal agreed already, as per what Rafa has said several times throughout the transfer window.
A deal lined up maybe, but MA wouldn't sign anything until we'd done the selling and then what is to stop goalposts being moved Zoet style? Would be good if you are right though - would like to see Gayle upgraded.
