The Keita deal is not an option to buy, it is effectively Liverpool paying £3m this window and the remaining £48m next July, at the date which completes the move. Hate to use the legal terms for this as it'll make Keita sound like an object and not a human but hey-ho. As an 'asset': 1. Possession remains with RBL. 2. [Legal] title remains with RBL. 3. [Risk] remains with RBL. We are obliged to buy him next year or we'd be sued and damages would be the full amount plus compensation for breach of contract. In regards to risk, such as if he gets injured, most teams insure players and even if they do not, one would assume FSG got this sorted for a future asset. Right now that responsibility remains with RBL. No party can pull out of the deal now (such as RBL accepting a higher bid) without repercussions which would far outweigh any benefits (even transfer funds received could be taken away). Hope this clears it up. (Graduating from law school soon)
That premium is the £3m we paid now. Worst case scenario it [the premium] totals around £10m (including the current £3m paid) - highly doubt it is more than the £3m though. Nice try at wumming Diego but either way, the ink is well and truly dry on the Keita deal.
Let's run with your £3m is only a retainer (which doesn't make sense as that isn't how retainers work), let's assume the total deal is £70m - alright, what now? Honestly the wum attempt is so poor, you have absolutely nothing.
People should vote that mention of pogba means a chinese burn. Second mention is a wet willie and 3rd mention by anyone is a dose of the ginas like rhc has got.
That aside. Thomas Lemar - interesting if he is the Coutinho replacement as I thought Klopp saw Coutinho as a no.8 this season. If we have our entire midfield available then I doubt Lemar could feature unless he had any two of Wiji, Can, Milner and Henderson holding the midfield. Even then I'd argue that midfield wouldn't be covering/pressing enough.
