    Going in circles here.

Why would any company inspect the product of another before buying? Same exists if you're only putting a down payment down or an option to buy.

We wouldn't throw away £3mill if he had a faulty ticker.

Again, going in circles. They don't want to sell. They want to keep him. They're resigned to losing him next summer anyway when release clause kicks in. They're not going to get more than his release clause next summer. Noone is going to pay more.

As far as they're concerned it doesn't matter which foreign team signs him. If we put down £3 mill as option to buy him first that's £3 mill more than they would get next summer. It's essentially free money to them. Why would they refuse (unless someone offered more)?

For all intents and purposes, barring something catastrophic, he will be a Liverpool player, but not before July.

We don't know what went on in the board rooms or the particulars of the contract we can only assume the most logical thing happened.

Except that they could get even more selling him to whoever is happy to pay a bigger premium.

The fact its happened so fast with no hiccups suggest its more an obligation than a true option as you guys are keen to get it over the line before any of the big clubs come sniffing around in this inflated market (hence you were more than happy to spend 70m)

They don't want to sell, why would a poxy £3m convince them to agree to a definitive activation of his release clause, when they could spend the full year trying to convince him to stay with their 'project'?

You've paid that money as a sweetener to allow the clause to be triggered in essence now.

    He's not staying.

Point is, a poxy 3m for an un-obligated contract is not value at all when they could fetch far more.

Anyway just read the actual transfer on skysports and BBC, it's pretty clear you've signed him for next year irrespective of what happens to him this year. So it's not an option, just a forward contract. Case close. Next

This has been going on all summer. This is the best deal they have had, or they would have let these mysterious better deals you allude to have him.

Che Guevara, Pele and Socrates. Maybe that bird off Modern Family, and Miss Venezuela always rocked when Miss World was still allowed. And perhaps Lucas. The rest you wouldn't trust as far as you could kick them.

Liverpool and Swansea City are locked in a bruising battle to secure the loan signing of Bayern Munich wonderkid Renato Sanches, according to various reports.

Bild has claimed that Jurgen Klopp's Reds are the favourites to land the midfielder before Thursday's transfer deadline day, but they face serious competition for the most unlikely of sources in Paul Clement's Swans.

Indeed, Wales Online have reported that the Liberty Stadium-based club have enquired about Sanches and could pull off one of the biggest shocks of the summer window if they manage to beat Liverpool to the punch

Well, it'd be to develop him for Bayern so unless Lemar falls through or we get a purchase option then I'd agree....

Big assumption that. If it's the case, I do hope Liverpool have taken out insurance.
