I know PSG have used all the loop holes possible but they have well and truely taken the piss regarding FFP, if all these deals go through.
Mbappe is a loan deal apparently so they can pay next year and get round FFP. Pretty pathetic from Monaco allowing their closest rivals to do that to them, but modern football
It is getting stupid: Drinkwater close to joining Chelsea City have bid cash + Sterling for Sanchez Arsenal are after Evans Liverpool have bid £75m for Lemar Mad
I see that as a done thing. So didn't add it to the list. Evans being the guy clubs fighting over is weird.
Kieran Gibbs to Watford is off according to Sky as he couldn't agree personal terms. He would obviously prefer to sit on his arse all season than actually play football.
This window has changed football forever. We will now see a constant flow of players running down contracts, forcing moves, tapping up. Might as well start getting used to it.
Doesn't sound like anything has changed to me? Those things have always happened (well in the last 10-15 years anyway)
Not like the level we are seeing now. Nowhere near the level we are seeing right now. Transfer requests, players refusing to play, clubs being bullied. Tell me the drama of two summers ago and I'll give you 10x the names today.
Can't really moan about players running down contracts ... we moan often enough when they don't honour them!
Always two sides. We plead loyalty then disregard a good pro who we've outgrown. I'm fully aware of that.
No problem with running down contracts...players don't have to sign extensions. Up to the club whether they let that happen or move them on earlier.
Agree with that bit. What's in it for a good player to sign a long contract if he thinks he will outgrow the club? You get some loyalty bonus and insurance against injury/not making it, but if you really back yourself then there is a big transfer and a pot of free money for everyone if you time it out (except the club you're leaving). Defoe is a great example.
